In the millennial kingdom; Israel shall inherit Gaza, Lebanon and Syria; and Jordan shall serve Israel
The trees falling are emblematic of the nations falling. Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Gaza and Bashan [Golan] shall fall first to the Asian armies and then be dominated by Israel, which shall dominate the entire Middle East.
Zechariah 11:1 Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars [the strength of Lebanon as symbolized by the cedars] .
11:2 Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan [Golan Plateau]; for the forest of the vintage [the mighty men and strength of these nations is brought down] is come down.
This speaks of the shepherds living in the region of the river Jordan, the modern nation of Jordan; and is dual, speaking also of the leaders of the nation.
11:3 There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
Messiah will deliver the flock of Israel who are captive and feed them with their oppressors wealth.
The oppressor’s will be turned against one another that Israel may be delivered.
11:4 Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter [the nations of Israel];
11:5 Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.
11:6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
“Beauty” was a prophecy of the death of Christ and the end of the Mosaic Covenant
The marriage covenant between Israel and Messiah the Christ is here called Beauty; and the death of the Husband of Israel broke the Mosaic Marriage Covenant [Beauty] between him and Israel.
11:7 And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
Three shepherds were cut off at the time that the Mosaic Covenant ended with the death of Israel’s Husband.
This prophecy was fulfilled in the first century, with the cutting off of the Mosaic Covenant shepherds of Israel: who were the Levitical priesthood, the Scribes and the Mosaic Pharisees.
11:8 Three shepherds also I cut off [from their authority over Israel in the day that the Mosaic Covenant ended with the death of the Husband of Israel. Moses Seat was transferred to “That Prophet” Jesus Christ, at his resurrection!] in one month [the first month]; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me [they rejected Messiah and God the Father for their own traditions, and were therefore rejected by God].
The Mosaic Covenant being ended by the murder of the Husband, the resurrected Yeshua [Jesus] was freed from the physical Mosaic Covenant, and formally espoused himself to a spiritual people of a spiritual Israel who were zealous to keep the whole Word of God.
11:9 Then said I [to Mosaic Israel], I will not feed you [support you as your husband any longer]: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off [God’s Mosaic Covenant ended with the cutting off of the husband Yeshua [Jesus] Christ]; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
The marriage covenant between physical Israel and Yahweh which was made at Sinai; was BROKEN by the death of the Husband of Israel; Yahweh, even Jesus Christ.
11:10 And I took my staff, even Beauty [the Beautiful Mosaic Covenant that the people would not keep], and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant [the Mosaic Covenant] which I had made with all the people.
When Christ was crucified, then the poor in spirit, humble, [as opposed to the proud and self-centered] and submissive to the whole Word of God followed Christ into a spiritual espousal to full unity with Messiah on a spiritual level in a New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31 and:
Ezekiel 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water [the Water of the Word and Spirit of God] upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
This is also a prophecy of spiritual Israel, that the proud and self-centered of the church of God will not enter into the marriage of the Lamb at the resurrection. Only the spiritually humble enough to exalt the whole Word of God, and to follow the Lamb whethersoever he goeth; will be in the resurrection to spirit and eternal life as a part of the collective bride of the New Covenant!
11:11 And it was broken in that day [The Mosaic Covenant “Beauty” was ended on the day of the death of the Husband of Israel]: and so the poor of the flock [the poor in spirit (humble before God)] that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
The following verse clinches this prophecy of “Beauty” being about the Mosaic Covenant with Christ.
11:12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
11:13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.
BANDS; the brotherhood of Israel and Judah
11:14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel [This was done immediately after the death of Solomon (1 Kings 11:11)].
The foolish shepherds are described; which exactly describes the leaders and elders [shepherds] of today’s Ekklesia.
11:15 And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
11:16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. [rend the sheep in pieces for his personal advantage]
The shepherd who does not faithfully give the flock the solid meat of sound doctrine and diligent instructions to zealously and without compromise live by every Word of God; the shepherd who seeks personal advantage: Is a FOOLISH shepherd and will be destroyed by the Eternal.
11:17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! [To seek his own advantage, and does not teach a passionate zeal for the whole word of God.] the sword shall be upon his arm [against him], and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened [blind].
The next three chapters are about the last days and the coning of Christ. The Pharisees [Rabbins] no longer sit in Moses Seat!
The seat of spiritual authority has been restored to the original Melchizedek and now belongs to “That Prophet” Jesus Christ and the Word of God!
There are many who claim that the modern Pharisees or Rabbins have authority over the Calendar and perhaps other issues; then they deny the Rabbins in dating the Passover and Pentecost, and refuse to follow the Rabbins in much else!
Which is it gentlemen? Do we bow to the falsely supposed and nonexistent authority of those who reject our LORD; or do we accept the authority of the Word of God and Jesus Christ; the true spiritual High Priest of the New Covenant!
The choice is before you brethren: Will you follow idols of men, or will you follow the Lamb [the Word] of God?
Introduction: The Day of The Lord is the time when Babylon [the new Europe] and the nations of the East are gathered at Jerusalem, at the coming of Jesus Christ.
A prophecy of Jerusalem at the coming of Messiah the Christ. The prophecy begins by exalting the Eternal and then quickly turns to Jerusalem
Zechariah 12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
The prophet says that many people will be gathered against Jerusalem at the day of the Lord and they all shall be destroyed when Christ comes to Jerusalem to save Jerusalem and Judah.
12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
In the day of Messiah the King, he shall smite all nations who are gathered at Jerusalem to battle.
12:4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every [war] horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every [warrior and war machine] horse of the people with blindness.
There shall yet be Jews remaining in Jerusalem who will turn to him whom they have pierced and rejoice in him! Rising up to turn on their oppressors with the help of the Deliverer, Messiah the King!
When Christ comes and stands on the Mount of Olives in that day, the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem shall rejoice at their deliverance and shall rise u to fight in the city and across Judea in their God; as the Eternal destroys the armies fighting against Jerusalem.
12:5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
As Christ destroys the armies gathered to resist him in the valley; Judah shall sincerely repent and turn to embrace the one that they had pierced, and will fight in that day against the wicked occupiers of Jerusalem and Judea and their attackers.
12:6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
The people of Judah shall be saved first and shall rise up to rejoice in him whom they have pierced, and will fight their oppressors by the power of their God; that they may be again united with the ten tribes and the broken Bands between Judah and Israel will be healed.
Judah shall be saved first that the glory of David [now sovereign in the monarchies of Britain and Scandinavia] not exceed Judah. These sovereign lines will end, being replaced by their father the resurrected David.
12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
When Messiah the Christ comes and Judah repents and turns to him; he shall destroy the armies gathered to fight at Jerusalem and will then empower the people of Judah to rise up in the strength of Almighty God to mop up and drive the nations out of the land.
12:8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
Messiah will raise up Judah to destroy all the nations that have fought against Judah.
12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
The Repentance of Judah/Israel and the mourning over their sin!
A great repentance will come; and Judah and all Israel will accept the Messiah the Christ and be brought into the spiritual New Covenant of Jeremiah 31 and Ezekiel 36:26. Then both Judah and Israel will be united with God and being of like mind will be united with each other again healing the broken Bands.
12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit [the Holy Spirit Joel 2:28] of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
12:11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
12:12 And the land shall mourn [repent], every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
12:13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;
12:14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
