Revelation 15 – 16

An introduction to the seven last plagues [of the seventh trumpet] which will be poured out AFTER the resurrection, and BEFORE the return to the earth of Messiah with God’s chosen.

The resurrected chosen will stand in the heavenly temple courtyard before the Throne of God for the marriage of the Lamb while these plagues are being poured out.

Revelation 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

15:2 And I saw as it were [in appearance like] a sea of glass mingled with fire: [This is the vast courtyard before the throne of God the Father; paved with something that reflects and refracts the light from God into many shimmering colors; either thinly beaten gold or a kind of crystal.] and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, [The resurrected chosen will stand in the courtyard of the temple before the throne of God in heaven.] stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

The first few lines of this Song of Moses are stated to differentiate it from the other Songs of Moses.

15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

If you have prepared yourself and have been passionately zealous for our Beloved and living by every Word of God to become LIKE GOD and to overcome all worldliness; then you too shall stand before the throne of God the Father and  sing this song of rejoicing at the Marriage of the Lamb!

In the spiritual context of the resurrection to eternal life and the marriage of the Lamb, this song refers to complete victory over Satan, sin and death by our Husband Jesus Christ, for those who follow him to live by every Word of God!

This is about the chosen called out, rising from the grave like Israel rose up from the Red Sea, and the nations of the world quaking and trembling at the mighty deeds of Messiah the Christ as he resurrects his chosen, pours out these last terrible plagues and then comes to destroy all resistance and rule all nations.

The Song of Moses

If you have prepared yourself and have been passionately zealous for our Beloved and every Word of God and overcome all worldliness; then you too will stand before the throne of God the Father and Link: sing this song of rejoicing at the Marriage of the Lamb!

Exodus 15:1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying,

I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Just as God defeated pharaoh, our Lord has defeated and will defeat the armies of Satan, the god-king of this world!

15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

We must trust ONLY in our God who is Mighty to Deliver, and he will build us into a Spiritual Temple [a dwelling place] for our God through the gift of God’s Spirit dwelling in us!

15:3 The LORD [who later gave up his God-hood to be made flesh as Jesus Christ] is a man of war: the LORD [YHVH, the Eternal] is his name.

The Eternal is our defense and our Deliverer, NO ONE can stand before him!

15:4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. 15:5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. 15:6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. 15:7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble. 15:8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.

15:9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.

15:10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

Who is like God the Father and Jesus Christ?

15:11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 15:12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.

15:13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.

15:14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.

15:15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.

The Canaanites were types of wickedness and rebellion against God!

15:16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

The sincerely repentant spiritual people which Jesus Christ the Lamb of God has purchased with his blood; will pass through the Sea of Death [the grave] into eternal life, and they will be given an inheritance as kings and priests over all the earth and the job of helping to reconcile all people to God!

15:17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which thy hands have established.

15:18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.

Oh, what a great rejoicing in Israel on that High Holy Day of the Seventh Day of Unleavened Bread!

Oh, what a fantastic millennium of rejoicing the resurrected chosen saints will have as they bring the millennial harvest of first fruits into the family of God, in the very presence of the Creator himself!

Then Miriam led all Israel in a Song of Rejoicing at the deliverance and power of the Eternal from physical Egypt; and the resurrected chosen will also sing a Song of Rejoicing at the deliverance and power of the Eternal to deliver from bondage to Satan, sin and death!

15:20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 15:21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Revelation 15:5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the [last] seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Revelation 16

The Seven Last Plagues

While the multitudes of saints making up the collective bride of Christ stand on the vast expanse of the glittering crystal courtyard before the temple of God in heaven (Rev 7:9, Rev 15 and 19); seven angels are given the seven bowls of God’s wrath to be poured out on the earth. These plagues must be poured out and completed within 45 days of the resurrection which is the difference between the 1,290 and 1,335 days of Daniel 12.

Revelation 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

The first viol, cup or bowl was poured out on the earth and men were afflicted with grievous sores.

After witnessing the resurrection and change to spirit of the faithful, many in Israel will begin to repent and seek God’s deliverance; at the same time most of humanity will still follow their leaders, who fearing the  loss of their positions continue to resist God.

16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast [all those who refuse to live by every Word of God], and upon them which worshipped his image.

The word “noisome” means disgusting, fetid, putrid, rotten, stinking; and is usually a reference to weeping sores which ooze pus and noxious material. The word grievous refers to extreme pain.

This affliction was poured out on those who remain in rebellion against God and refuse to live by every Word of God.

16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul [creature] died in the sea.

The third viol or cup of wrath will follow quickly after the second, and the “sea” will be turned into a coagulated mess. This could refer to all seas or to just the Mediterranean Sea.

16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. 16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. 16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

The third angel poured out his viol and then the open bodies of fresh water will also be polluted. People will need to dig wells for water as the Egyptians did when the Nile was turned to the same kind of bloody mess.

16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

The fourth angel will cause the sun to flare with great heat upon the earth.

16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,  16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

Then the fifth angel obscured the light in the kingdom of the beast, so that his place at that time in Jerusalem will be plunged into complete darkness. This seems to be some kind of particulate like smoke or dense dust which prevents even artificial light from penetrating.

After the beast [the New Europe, the seventh revival of the scarlet beast and its ruler] is counter attacked when he attacks Asia in the third year, he will move to Jerusalem as his last redoubt; and the armies of Asia will pursue him there.

Daniel 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

The Asian armies will counter attack Europe, and will turn south towards Jerusalem in pursuit of the beast and false prophet, and the sixth angel will open the way for them by drying up the river Euphrates.

Remember all of these things are being poured out during the Marriage Banquet Feast of the Lamb, given by God the Father in heaven to celebrate the resurrection of the early harvest and their complete unity with the Father and the Son!

Along with the rejoicing, duties and responsibilities of the many offices will be assigned and the kingdom will be organized before they return to the earth.

Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

As the Euphrates dries up and these armies gather before Jerusalem, demons will go forth to deceive all of these nations to agree together to resist the coming of Christ with his saints. That means that the armies of Asia gathered at Jerusalem and the city’s European defenders will join forces to fight Christ at his coming.

16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Then Jesus Christ will come to take and rule the Kingdom WITH his resurrected saints (see Jude) and he will destroy wickedness and rule the earth in righteousness. This is not referring to the resurrection of the bride which already happened as the seventh trump began to sound.

These viols of plagues or cups of God’s wrath will be poured out while the wedding feast is taking place in heaven, after the resurrection and before Christ comes with them to rule the earth.

Blessed is the one who is watching and keeping himself from joining the rebellious against God and godliness!

16:15 Behold, I come [to rule, coming suddenly and surprising the wicked] as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments [is clothed with righteousness, referring to those repenting during this time], lest he walk naked [of righteousness], and they see his shame [the shame of our wickedness is revealed].

Jesus Christ will come with the resurrected chosen at some unknown point (Mat 24:36) within the 45 day period between the 1,290 and 1,335 days of Daniel 12, and after all wickedness is out down God will pour out his Spirit on all flesh on the Feast of  First Fruits also called Pentecost.

16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

The armies will mass on a plateau just north of Jerusalem marshaling to resist Messiah the Christ at his coming with the resurrected chosen.

Now the seventh angel pours out his viol and Jesus Christ will come from the Marriage of the Lamb in heaven, back to the earth WITH the resurrected saints.

Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then some 42 months after the city is occupied Jesus Christ will come with the resurrected faithful and destroy the armies of the wicked.

14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

14:6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

Revelation 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

The seventh vial of cup of God’s wrath represents the coming of Christ with his chosen second 144,000 to the Mount of Olives and their entry into Jerusalem to set up a world government, while vast numbers of other resurrected chosen will arrive in the various nations around the earth to take over local administration.

16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

Revelation 16:19 refers to the great earthquake spoken of in Zechariah 14:4-5.  This is the Zechariah earthquake which splits the Mount of Olives and shakes the whole earth as Messiah the Christ arrives with the resurrected faithful.

16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Consider that all these events including the movement of mighty armies could not take place in the one day of the resurrection of the bride as the seventh trump began to sound.  These plagues were poured out while the saints stood before the Temple of God in heaven over approximately 45 days.

The key to understanding this is the difference between the 1,290 days and the 1,335 days of Daniel 12. The resurrection is at the end of 1,290 days AFTER the man of sin is set up doing miracles, and the final plagues take some days to be poured out.

Be careful here, the 1,335 days could refer to Christ’s coming to destroy the wicked and arrest Satan and his demons; and then wait for a few days until Pentecost for God’s Spirit to be poured out (Joel 2:28) and begin the Kingdom of God over all the earth.

Remember that after Israel arrived at Sinai they waited several days before God appeared on Mt Sinai, and the disciples waited for ten days after Christ’s ascension before Pentecost came.
