A psalm of sincere trusting faithfulness to God, revealing the proper relationship between man and God
Psalm 25:1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul [We are to give ourselves wholly to God in complete submissive humility].
If we put our trust in God to live by his every Word we shall never be ashamed, for God will lead us victorious over Satan, over bondage to sin and over the grave itself.
25:2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. 25:3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Those who refuse to live by every Word of God shall surely be greatly ashamed when they see the godly exalted while they are sternly rebuked.
25:4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
God’s Word is Truth and brings eternal salvation to all those who live by it.
25:5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Let us all repent and turn to live by every Word of God, and that Almighty God may remember his merciful nature and forgive us for all our repented sins.
25:6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
Let us sincerely repent of all our past sins and commit to “Go and sin no more” so that our merciful God will be gracious unto us to forgive and forget our past wickedness
25:7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.
Every Word of God is life, for God’s Word teaches those who humble themselves to learn from him, how we may depart from all sin and live
25:8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
Those who walk in the paths laid out by the Word of God and keep their commitment to live by every Word of God will live in Truth and receive the mercy of the LORD.
25:10 All the paths [the whole Word of God] of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as [diligently live by every Word of God] keep his covenant and his testimonies.
The iniquity of men is great, but God is greater and will deliver men from their bondage to sin.
25:11 For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
Those who are humbly submissive to live by every Word of God, shall be taught of God because they have chosen the ways of God; and those who live by every Word of God shall inherit the earth in the resurrection of the chosen.
25:12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. 25:13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
God’s salvation and the secret things of God shall be revealed in those who love God enough to live by every Word of God
25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
If our eyes and thoughts are ever focused on the Eternal to do his will, he shall surely deliver us.
25:15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Let us cry out in sincere repentance to our Mighty One for his sure deliverance
25:16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted. 25:17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. 25:18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
The enemies we struggle with are Satan and many temptations to sin
25:19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
God deliver all those who put their trust in him, to follow him and live by God’s every Word; from their bondage to Satan and sin
25:20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
If we are filled with the integrity and righteousness of the Word of God, through living by every Word of God, the Eternal will save us
25:21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
God the Father has redeemed the sincerely repentant with the blood and life of the Lamb of God
25:22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
David is willing to be tested as to his fidelity to God, for he has dedicated himself to absolute faithfulness to live by every Word of God
Psalm 26:1 Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. 26:2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins [examine my most secret thoughts and deeds for I have been loyal to you] and my heart.
God’s Word which is righteousness and loving kindness; was ever in David’s mind and should always be in our minds
26:3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
We are not to keep company the wicked who are not zealous to live by every Word of God
26:4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. 26:5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
Let us all witness to and publish the greatness of God, for God has done wonderful things for us
26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
God will account all those who live by every Word of God as lovers of God and not as sinners
26:8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. 26:9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: 26:10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
Those who walk [live] by every Word of God, and stand on the sure and solid foundation of the Rock of our Salvation, shall receive the mercy of the LORD and shall be accounted among God’s beloved faithful
26:11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. 26:12 My foot standeth in an even [permanent] place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
