Psalms 103 – 105

All through the sixth day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Israel trekked across the Red Sea and as the evening approached they came up out of the sea and began to rejoice over their deliverance as the Seventh day of the Feast began when the sun set.

This event is an allegory that God has spiritually called some out of bondage to Satan and sin for six thousand years beginning with Abel until today.  The spiritually called out living and dying in their turn, and passing through death to rise up resurrected to life eternal at the end of six thousand years, followed by a millennial Sabbath of rest and rejoicing in the presence of their Creator with Satan restrained.

The seventh day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread pictures the millennium.  There is NO WAY that the seven day Feast of Tabernacles could picture a one thousand year millennium.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalm 103

Praise to God for his deliverance

Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

God can heal physical diseases and does so to teach us that God heals our spiritual infirmities.

103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Our LORD has redeemed our lives from sin and death by the sacrifice of his own life.

103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

God makes the plants grow providing physical food, as an instruction that God is the source of the spiritual food of eternal life, the Word of God.

103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Every Word of God is Righteous and Just, bringing just judgment to humanity; saving the righteous and destroying the wicked.

103:6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

God gave HIS Word to Moses; the laws of Moses are really the Law and Word of Almighty God our LORD.

103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

God has patiently warned us to repent of our rebellion and sins but he will not always warn and his patience will come to its end, bringing much deserved correction on the unrepentant.  Yet God’s correction is in love so that by afflicting the flesh he might bring us to sincere repentance and save the spirit.

103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

God has not utterly destroyed us immediately for our sins, but has, in his love and great mercy patiently warned us.

103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

Once the people sincerely repent and turn to love and live by every Word of God; God will extend mercy and abundantly forgive those who have respect for Him and are willing to live by every Word of God.

103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.  103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.  103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear [God forgives those who deeply respect God to live by God’s Word] him.

God knows that the flesh is transitory and that our short lives are as nothing compared to his endless years, therefore he is very patient and merciful to those that love and respect him sincerely repenting and turning to live by every Word of God.

103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.  103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.  103:16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear [deeply respect] him, and his righteousness [the righteousness of God is revealed in EVERY WORD of God] unto children’s children;

The Mosaic Covenant was to live by every Word of God; and the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31 is to live by every Word of God with the addition of a efficacious sacrifice and the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.

Those who keep the New Covenant to live by every Word of God during this early harvest dispensation will be resurrected to eternal  life, and will rule over all nations under Messiah the Christ in the millennium and beyond.

103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.  103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

From the heavenly angels to the hosts of humanity, all living beings shall praise God forever.

103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

103:21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

103:22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

Psalm 104

The greatness of God

Psalm 104:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

In appearance God is a brilliant light; and his Word is the Light of Truth which destroys the darkness of wickedness.   In his wisdom God created the physical universe.

104:2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

God created the earth and divided the waters from the land; God is spirit and is not limited by the physical laws which he has made.

104:3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:  104:4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:  104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.  104:6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

When God commanded:

Genesis 1:9  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

Psalm 104:7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they [the waters removed and the dry land appeared]  hasted away.

104:8 They go up by [it rains and the waters come down from the mountains]  the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.  104:9 Thou hast set a bound that they [the seas and the waters] may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

By his design God has provided fresh water for all to drink and live; which is an allegory of the water of the Word and Spirit of God which gives life eternal.

104:10 He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. 104:11 They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.  104:12 By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.  104:13 He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

God has designed and given every plant for the earth so that all creatures may eat and live; as an allegorical lesson that those who hunger and thirst after the righteousness of every Word of God shall live forever (Mat 5).

104:14 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

Red wine is a symbol of the blood sacrifice of the Lamb of God which saves and sets apart the sincerely repentant unto godliness; the oil is a type of God’s Spirit which enables us to live by every Word of God the Word of life everlasting; unleavened bread is representative of every Word of God the Bread of Life Eternal!

104:15 And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.

Jesus tells us in John 15 that he is the tree and God’s faithful are the branches grafted into him, and if we remain in him we will be nourished by God and we will bring forth much spiritual fruit to life everlasting.

104:16 The trees of the LORD are full of sap [The faithful people of God are full of God’s life giving Spirit]; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;  104:17 Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

God made the mountains and the hills for his purposes, and God designed different  animals to reside in every place.

104:18 The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.

The light of the moon was set in motion to mark the beginning of the months, as the sun measures out the days (Gen 1).

104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

In the darkness the wild beast’s prowl, and in the daylight men work.

104:20 Thou makest [the sun to go down] darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.  104:21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.  104:22 The sun ariseth, they [the wild beasts] gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.  104:23 Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

God who made all the amazing things on the earth and in the universe by his great wisdom.

104:24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

All the creatures of the sea were designed and given their roles in life by God.

104:25 So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.  104:26 There [over the sea] go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

God made them all and God sustains all his creatures directing them to their intended purpose.

104:27 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.  104:28 That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

All physical creatures are transitory and exist by the bounty of God.

104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.  104:30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit [power], they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

God is spirit and exists from everlasting to everlasting; God will bring mankind to repentance and God’s will and plan, will be fulfilled; and God rejoices to give eternal life to mankind.

104:31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works [to give eternal life to humanity].

God is Almighty and his purpose will be accomplished.

104:32 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

Let all that hath breath rejoice in the glory of God and in his merciful gifts.

104:33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

104:34 My meditation [thoughts] of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

All those who refuse to live by every Word of God will be eternally destroyed, but God’s faithful shall live forever with many good blessings.

104:35 Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 105

Remember the great deeds of God and rejoice in gratitude, exalting him forever

Psalm 105:1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.  105:2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. 105:3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Seek God to live in the presence of God, living by his Word; because he is mighty to save his faithful.

105:4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore. 105:5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

All those who faithfully trust in God and live by every Word of God are the true spiritual children of Abraham and Jacob.

Galatians 3:7  Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

Psalm 105:6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

God our Deliverer out of bondage to sin, will rule all the earth; and every nation and people will ultimately live by every Word of God or perish.

105:7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

All Israel and all humanity will be called into the eternal spiritual New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31.

105:8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.  105:9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; 105:10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

The physical promised land of Canaan will belong to a united Israel forever, and is an allegory that the sincerely repentant who live by every Word of God will enter the spiritual Promised Land of eternal life.

105:11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

The promise of the land was made when Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were wanderers in the land.

105:12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

God protected them as strangers in the land.

105:13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; 105:14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; 105:15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Joseph was tested by God until God called him out of prison. The spiritually called out are being tested by God until they are resurrected from the prison of death and the grave.

105:16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread. 105:17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: 105:18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: 105:19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.

Joseph was made the ruler of Egypt by God after his testing;  and God’s faithful are also being tested through the years and they will be resurrected rule the nations when Messiah the Christ comes.

105:20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. 105:21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance: 105:22 To bind [command] his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

Jacob came to Joseph in Egypt, and there Israel grew into a nation.

105:23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. 105:24 And he [God] increased his people [Israel] greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

Then God hardened Pharaoh’s heart to use him as an example of Satan and bondage to sin.

105:25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

Then God sent Moses to lead Israel out of bondage in Egypt, as an example that God will ultimate deliver all humanity from bondage to Satan and sin.

105:26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen. 105:27They shewed his [God’s] signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham [Egypt is descended from Mizraim a son of Ham].

105:28 He  [God] sent darkness, and made it dark [in an allegory the at that time Egypt was representative of the darkness of idolatry, ignorance and sin]; and they [the light and the darkness obeyed God] rebelled not against his word.

God made the water of the Nile to become blood, to teach us that worshiping [obeying] idols [including false teachers and false teachings] and refusing to live by every Word of God brings death, and living by the Word of God brings life.

105:29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

The Eternal made the earthly things that the Egyptians held holy – from the Nile itself to the smallest insects – to become great plagues; to demonstrate that the Eternal is greater than, and has power over all other gods.

105:30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.  105:31 He spake, and there came divers sorts of [biting, blood sucking] flies, and lice in all their coasts. 105:32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire  in their land.

105:33 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts. 105:34 He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number, 105:35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

All of the gods of Egypt were but physical things, and God demonstrated his power over them all so that we would know that all our own idols are but vain and meaningless fantasies, and that our only deliverance is to live by every Word of God.

105:36 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

Israel was delivered out of Egypt by the power of God and greatly blessed.  Even so, those who are faithful to live by every Word of God will be resurrected to spirit and they will receive great blessings and eternal life if they persevere to live by every Word of God.

105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

Just like ancient Egypt and the surrounding nations feared God and Israel, today’s nations will regard and fear God when they see God’s chosen rising from their graves to life eternal.

105:38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

In the wilderness God provided for his people; and God will watch over his faithful, giving them the Word of God which is the spiritual Bread of Life from heaven.

105:39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night. 105:40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

When Christ comes with his resurrected chosen, the waters of the Holy Spirit will be poured out on all flesh (Joel 2:28).

105:41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

God remembered his promise to Abraham that his descendants would inherit that land; and God will remember the spiritual aspect of that promise, that all those who are faithful to God like Abraham was faithful to God – which people are the children of Abraham in spirit – will inherit the spiritual Promised Land of eternal life.

105:42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

God brought the physical descendants of Abraham out of bondage in Egypt; and God will bring forth the spiritual children of Abraham out from bondage to Satan, sin and the grave.

Galatians 3:7  Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

Psalm 105:43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

God gave physical Israel a physical promised land; and God will give the spiritual children of Abraham the Promised Land of eternal life and dominion over all the earth and universe under God the Father and Messiah the King of kings.

105:44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

The faithful to God will live by every Word of God forever and forever!

105:45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
