Proverbs 4 – 5

Proverbs 4

These is not just the words of Solomon, this is Holy Scripture inspired by God our Father in heaven.

Every person should take this as a personal instruction from God our Father in heaven; because that is exactly what it is.  When it says “hear your father;” consider that our heavenly Father is speaking to and instructing us personally.

Let us hear and KEEP every Word of God our Father in heaven and seek understanding from him.

Proverbs 4:1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a [God our Father in heaven] father, and attend to know understanding.  4:2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

The Almighty Eternal Father is the fountainhead of the Sound Doctrine of Holy Scripture and the Law of Life Eternal.

Romans 7:12   Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Proverbs 4:3 For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

Attend to the words of the Father of Light; for his teachings are good and his law is life eternal.

4:4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Seek out a good understanding of every Word of God to DO them.  Turn neither to the right nor to the left in seeking understanding of the Word of God with diligent zeal.

Yes, seek God and never compromise in zeal for his Word.

NEVER exalt any man, organization or tradition over what you learn from God’s Word!  If we obey him, God’s Spirit will continually lead us into more truth; and we shall become more and more like our Father in heaven!

4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of [Our heavenly Father’s mouth] my mouth.

If we love God we will follow and live by every Word of God the Father which is the whole of the Holy Scriptures: the faithful will KEEP them diligently without any hint of turning or compromise!

If we truly loved God the Father and Jesus Christ; we would do what they say!

To compromise with God’s Word is to turn away from God the Father and Jesus Christ, which  quenches the Spirit of Truth.

4:6 Forsake her [the wisdom of every Word of God] not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

Wisdom is learned through the practical application of  every Word of God the Father.  We can read and hear forever, but if we do not apply and do what we see and hear in the Word of God; we shall never learn spiritual wisdom.

The wisdom of God comes from LIVING by every Word of God.  Our heavenly Father tells us to get wisdom; and wisdom is found through the zealous KEEPING of God’s Word.

Those who do not rebuke departures from God’s Word [which is sin], and who think that keeping a way that leads to many sorrows and death is good; are spiritually ignorant and foolish.

Today all the major Church of God Groups are cut off from God, because of their compromising and idolatry of men.

4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.  4:8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.  4:9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

God the Father in heaven says:  hear the words of eternal life and do them that thy life may continue forever.

4:10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Learning and living by the Holy Scriptures causes us to internalize the wisdom of the King of the Universe and the way to eternal life.

4:11 I [God the Father has given us his Word of wisdom] have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I [God the Father] have led thee in right paths.

If we diligently study to learn and live by every Word of God we will be chosen as a part of the collective spiritual bride and enter eternal life.  Anyone who says “buy food in restaurants on Sabbath” or who tolerates any other sin without rebuke and instruction in righteousness; is working against God the Father and Jesus Christ, and is stealing your crown of life!

4:12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened [prevented]; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

If we live by every Word of God we shall be delivered at the resurrection of the faithful.  Eternal life abides in the instructions of God the Father and Jesus Christ!

4:13 Take fast hold of [God the Father’s] instruction; let her [wisdom] not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

NEVER compromise with any part of the Word of God no matter what ANY man says.  Prove men by the Word of God; do not twist scripture to follow men away from our zeal for God.

4:14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.  4:15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

Keep the Word of God with righteous zeal and do not turn aside for ANY false teacher who refuses to rebuke sin or tolerates false doctrine and tries to exalt  himself above the Word of God.

4:16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.  4:17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

It is the delight of wicked deceivers to lead many to follow them astray so that they are not alone in their evil deeds.

4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Those acceptable to God learn more and more and keep God’s Word more and more each day, until they come into the fullness of complete UNITY with God the Father and Jesus Christ:  And as they learn and internalize godliness through living by every Word of God they grow and become a shining beacon of godliness and his awesome magnificent wisdom.

4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Those who compromise or reject any part of the Word of God are in deep spiritual darkness; knowing not the way to life.  The willful breaking of any part of the Word  of God is the way to sorrows, death and final destruction.

4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

Our Beloved Father in heaven has given us the way to peace, fulfillment and eternal life; follow the Father’s words and ways with enthusiastic zeal so that we may be like him forever.

Let the Word of God the Father NEVER depart from our thoughts and our deeds forever!

4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

The Word of God the Father is life eternal to those who KEEP them.

Let us keep our hearts and minds pure from all sin and rebellion against God our Father: Obedience to God is life eternal, and compromise and rebellion is death eternal.

4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Do not teach false doctrine, or the perversity of compromise with any part of God’s Word!  Do not speak against the righteous Word of God the Father, as many elders do today in promoting the sin of organizational idolatry!

4:24 Put away from thee a forward [stubborn, rebellious, contrary, self-willed] mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.  4:25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Keep our eyes fixed on the truth of God’s Word.

4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.  4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Think on the Word of God and choose wisely our own words and actions so that we may be established in God’s sight.  Do what is right in the eyes of God the Father always, and refrain from all evil so shall we be established in his sight!

Proverbs  5

Proverbs 5:1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:  5:2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.

Our heavenly Father advises us to hear his Word and learn to carefully consider the words of our own lips before we speak.  We must learn to be careful and discreet in what we say.

5:3 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:  5:4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

Strange [loose] women are symbolic in scripture of false doctrines and false religions.  The Babylonian Mysteries is referred to as a great whore who rides upon the nations.

As the whore entices by appealing to our physical and emotional needs; so false religion appeals to our desire for God by substituting a false God and a false Christ and false doctrine and false prophecy, to distract us and lead us away from the real Father in heaven and the real Jesus Christ.

As the strange woman leads men to poverty and sorrows; the false doctrine of false religion leads people to sorrows and ultimate destruction.

The false prophecies and doctrines of false religion appeal to the carnal nature of man and sound very good as they leads us into the easy path to destruction.

5:5 Her [false teachings] feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

To follow false religion is to travel the path to personal destruction just as surely as exhausting ourselves and our treasure on the false affections of whores.

5:6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable [ever changing], that thou canst not know them.

There are many different false doctrines to keep people in confusion lest they should find the truth.

NEVER depart from the Word of God the Father!  NEVER even come close to the door of the house of falsity and enticement into error and sin. The end of false religion is destruction.

5:7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

Stay FAR AWAY from every false way and from all false doctrine and false teachings.  NEVER compromise with the Word of God, because some man tells you its alright to do a thing that the scripture condemns!

5:8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

Stay away from false teachings lest you are brought into bondage to serve sin and wicked men instead of our loving Father and our beloved espoused Husband.

5:9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:   5:10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;

Our spiritual wealth will be dissipated by following men away from godliness, just like physical wealth flies from the pockets of foolish men into the hands of a harlot and their inheritance is lost.

5:11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,  5:12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;  5:13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!  5:14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

In the end those who allow themselves to be deceived because they had no zeal for the truth, will mourn at their foolish rejection of the instruction of the Word of God.

As the wealth and the flesh are consumed by whoring; so is our spiritual understanding and eternal life destroyed by following after false religions instead of cleaving to our Deliverer to live by every Word of God.

5:15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.

Enjoy fully your own spouse and do not seek adulteries with others in the physical sense; and do the same in the spiritual sense by being ever faithful to our espoused Husband and NEVER following after any other.

This speaks of partaking of what is ours and not taking what belongs to another; the waters also speak of God’s Spirit and how we are to drink deeply of the Spirit and follow it into all truth, through diligent learning and obedience..

5:16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. 5:17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee.

Let our righteous example of physical and spiritual loyalty be known far and wide; through our faithful obedience to every Word of God.

5:18 Let thy fountain be blessed [produce much fruit]: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.

Be absolutely loyal to God the Father and Jesus Christ; do not pollute your gift of the Waters of the Spirit by following any other.

Rejoice in your calling and espousal in the faith; which is to internalize sound doctrine and the very nature of God the Father and Jesus Christ.  Bring forth much spiritual fruit by being faithful to true religion and not going whoring after false teachings.

Let the faithful to their physical spouses be blessed with much fruit: Let the spiritually faithful be blessed with much spiritual fruit, spiritual growth and eternal life in happiness with God their Father and with their Husband Jesus Christ.

5:19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

Speaking as a father to a young son, the heavenly Father admonishes us to be always faithful to true religion and sound doctrine; loving the spiritual things of God as a young man should love and be faithful to his wife.

We should regard the sound doctrine of the Spirit as something beautiful to be cherished and sought out; to be valued above the most pleasant things of physical life; and we should reject and discard any error [once discovered] as if we were being burned by a hot iron.

Always cherish godliness, truth and sound doctrine, above our own ways and traditions, being ready to change and grow continually.

5:20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?

Why would a loving husband desire any other except his beloved?  Let the husband cherish his wife and not another!  Let the spiritually espoused to Jesus Christ, love and cleave to him and follow no other, loving and submitting to God the Father as Jesus does (Mat 4:4).

5:21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

Jesus Christ and God the Father know when we go astray from them!  Jesus Christ is a jealous Husband who will not hold spiritual adulterers against him, guiltless!

To compromise with the will of God the Father and Jesus Christ because someone said it was alright, is idolatry and spiritual adultery; it is valuing the words of another more than the Word of our Lord and it is allowing that person to turn us AWAY from doing the will of our LORD!

God knows what we think and what we do, we cannot hide our spiritual adultery from him.

5:22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.  5:23 He shall die without instruction [if we refuse instruction we will go astray and die]; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray

Those who follow men contrary to scripture sin and have become idolaters, following men in wicked rebellion against our espoused Husband; will reap the reward of their rebellion which is rejection from being a part of the collective bride of our Beloved One! Remember Vashti
