The scriptures use marriage as an allegory of the relationship that Messiah wants with his people. The Mosaic Covenant was a Marriage Covenant between God and physical Israel which like all marriages would last until one of the parties died.
Jeremiah 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you:
Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Jeremiah 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
The God Being who married Mosaic Israel later gave up his God-hood to be made flesh as Jesus Christ and died ending that marriage covenant; opening the way for a New Covenant between God and Israel.
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
In this New Covenant between Israel and God, God will pour out his Spirit on all flesh (Joel 2:28) and all repentant persons regardless of race will be grafted into a new spiritual Israel.
The book of Proverbs is an instruction from God on how physical Israel should live to be a good bride for God, and spiritually it is a book of instructions on how to be an acceptable spiritual New Covenant bride for Christ.
God’s Word is Wisdom and to turn from living by EVERY Word of God to decide right and wrong for ourselves, is rejecting the Wisdom of God.
Proverbs 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
Solomon teaches us the wisdom of God, which begins with respect for God and a zeal to live by every Word of God fulfilling his will.
Man has existed on the earth for only a few thousand years but God has existed forever. Those who tolerate the evil of false doctrine or overlook and fail to rebuke sin, are ignorant, foolish and wicked and certainly separated from God. Wisdom is to be at one in unity with God in words, thoughts and deeds.
The whole book of Proverbs is God’s inspired instructions in how to be ONE in complete unity with Jesus Christ and God the Father.
Proverbs is the instructions of Christ through Solomon, to those called to become a part of his New Covenant bride!
The wisdom, understanding and love of God is defined by every Word of God.
God through Solomon teaches us:
1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; 1:4 To give subtilty [discernment] to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
The godly will hear instruction and accept correction from God’s Word. In doing that they will grow greatly in grace [repentance] and knowledge; and through living by the Word of God they will develop godly wisdom and internalize the nature of God, becoming ONE in unity with God.
1:5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 1:6 To [the humble before God will learn by exalting God’s Word to live by it] understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
To respect and hold Jesus Christ and God the Father in great awe and esteem, exalting them above all others and KEEPING their words as precious jewels of wisdom: is the beginning of ONENESS with God the Father, just as Jesus Christ is ONE incomplete unity with God the Father.
Anyone who rejects any part of the scriptures, as many folks do in rejecting a Nehemiah-like zeal for the Sabbath, is NOT in complete unity with Jesus Christ or with God the Father and needs to repent quickly. Anyone who says that Christ will overlook unrepentant sin [repentance means to STOP sinning]: Is ignorant of the things of Jesus Christ and God the Father and is foolish.
1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction [Godly instruction corrects error, if we act on it.].
Our ultimate Father is in heaven: KEEPING his instructions and living by every Word of God in wholehearted repentance, brings forgiveness and much honor .
1:8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 1:9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains [a chain of authority, of office, of rulership] about thy neck.
We are to reject those who teach tolerance for sin and who compromise with the Word of God. Quite honestly that means that we are to reject those who teach us to buy in restaurants on Sabbath or teach us to reject God’s biblical calendar and hold the biblical Festivals on days other than on the dates that God has commanded, or teach us to commit any sin including tolerating false doctrines.
Almighty God condemns the toleration of false doctrines
1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Do not sin in anything
1:11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: 1:12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: 1:13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 1:14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
Physical death is a symbol of spiritual death and those who teach people to compromise with the words of life and wisdom, are greater destroyers than those who merely kill the flesh.
1:15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 1:16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
The traps of the wicked are well hidden and the wicked often cloak themselves in an appearance of righteousness.
With clever arguments they deceive, saying that evil is good and they entice into sin and destruction teaching: “God would not want you to lose your job over a few minutes work on Sabbath,” or “it is our good pleasure to eat in restaurants on Sabbath.”
They make evil seem good and stand on the false traditions of men: Lying and saying that they are God’s servants and must be obeyed; when it is God who is to be obeyed and not the false servant! Those do these things do not obey or serve God, but are the servants of their own vices.
Such wicked men who teach people to sin or to tolerate heresy, truly work to their own destruction, and those who follow these blind souls instead of living by every Word of God will reap their just reward.
1:17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. 1:18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
Hear the wisdom of God
Elders greedily taking more than is your godly just due is stealing the life and livelihood of the brethren; the beloved children of God! God will NOT hold you guiltless for burdening his children and teaching the brethren to exalt men as idols above the Word of God.
1:19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof. 1:20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: 1:21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, 1:22 How long, ye simple [willfully ignorant] ones, will ye love simplicity [how long will we love ignorance and reject knowledge]? and the scorners delight in their scorning [against truth], and fools hate knowledge?
Turn and repent at the reproof of the Word of God. God will then pour out his Spirit of wisdom and understanding upon us!
1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Dear brethren, this is no light thing, for by rejecting a passionate zeal to live by every Word of God; WE HAVE REJECTED JESUS CHRIST! Those who lack zeal for the commandments and teachings of Holy Scripture will be rejected by God the Father and Jesus Christ!
Being hot for an organization or some human leader IS NOT the same thing as being hot and zealous for Jesus Christ, God the Father and for every Word of God!
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Thinking and saying that we are spiritually rich when we are compromising with the Word of God is self-deception!
3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich [spiritually], and increased with goods [spiritual knowledge], and have need of nothing [no one not even Christ (the Word of God) can tell them anything]; and knowest not that thou art [spiritually] wretched, and miserable, and [spiritually] poor [knowing almost nothing of God as they ought to know it], and blind [willfully blind to their wretched spiritual state], and naked [naked of any true godly righteousness, not being zealous to keep the Word of God]:
The sinful who may be zealous for idols of men, organizations and false traditions, and are not zealous to live by every Word of God; are about to be rejected by Jesus Christ into great tribulation for their correction and their good (Rev 3:16-22).
Be assured that God will not be mocked; what we have sown we shall reap; therefore there will be no deliverance out of tribulation except physical death; until Christ comes!
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap
Today God has kept his promise (Dan 12) of a latter day increase in knowledge and has been warning the brethren of their laxity; but they have rejected the truth to cleave to error and falsehood, and have closed their eyes to the warnings. In doing so they have rejected the wisdom of God’s Word to follow the foolishness of their own false ways. Therefore we shall surely be sternly corrected.
Proverbs 1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 1:27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Those who repent now will be forgiven and kept from the hour of trial. Those who sincerely repent in tribulation will not be delivered out of the tribulation, but will be required to PROVE their REPENTANCE by suffering for the Word of God which they had previously compromised with.
1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 1:30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Those who reject the warning message being delivered now [and over the past years]; will reap the consequences of their rejection of the truth of God for the false traditions of men and for their idolizing of men and institutions above the Word of God.
1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
For teaching the spiritually simple to compromise with any part of the Word of God, many an elder will be corrected severely; and for their pride in their positions and presumed spiritual wealth [which is a fantasy in their own minds] many a leader, elder and brother shall fall.
1:32 For the turning away [the falling astray of the spiritually shallow] of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools [Those who think that they are righteous because of their physical prosperity will fall.] shall destroy them.
Those who truly love God the Father and Jesus Christ and live by every Word of God will be saved in the resurrection to spirit if they endure to the end.
1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
Yet, for the vast majority of today’s Ekklesia which is Laodicea; there is HOPE!
Even though they will be forced to admit their sins and sincerely repent when they have their false teachings made manifest by falling into great tribulation; even though they must then PROVE their wholehearted repentance by suffering and many dying for their new found zeal: they will be forgiven IF they sincerely repent.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am [spiritually] rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art [spiritually] wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Many of Laodicea will repent in the fire of affliction and acquire the true the gold of the Word of God so that they might become spiritually rich.
We must repent of our lack of zeal for living by every Word of God in order to be adorned with the white robes of righteousness which garments are the priest’s attire.
We need to seek out the Holy Spirit to open our eyes so that we may see ourselves as God sees us.
3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me [spiritual wisdom] gold tried in the fire [during the period of your correction in the fire of tribulation], that thou mayest be [become spiritually rich] rich; and white raiment [the righteousness of zealously keeping the whole Word of God], that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness [that our sins might be covered by the righteousness of God] do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, [acquire the Holy Spirit through sincere repentance] that thou mayest see [open our eyes to see ourselves as God sees us, to see ourselves as we really are, so that we can repent and be saved].
Have HOPE; Laodicea is being rebuked and corrected because God loves them and is not willing that any should perish.
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Jesus Christ is standing at the door and knocking; If any will repent and turn to him: He will share the spiritual food of God’s Word with the repentant.
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
If we repent and are steadfast unto death; we will have a reward in the Kingdom; being admitted into the government of God.
3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Warning; ONLY the REPENTANT who overcome; will be in the resurrection to eternal life.
