Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay [or trust in idols] on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Woe to the people who put their trust in Egypt: Woe, Woe, Woe to all those of Spiritual Israel that begin to put their trust in the worldliness of their idols of men: Who trust in their own ways and in the false teachings of men and corporate idols instead of living by every Word of God the Word of Life!
31:2 Yet he [Messiah] also is wise, and will bring evil [correction, suffering for sin to humble the wicked], and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
Jesus Christ will rise up against the worldly wicked, and all those who make light of the sound doctrine of the Word of God.
31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
Those who rely on idols of men for their safety will fall with them; and those who live by every Word of God will live and be blessed forever.
31:4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
When Christ comes, he will come like a powerful young lion roaring over his prey; therefore trust in the might of the Eternal and not in the spiritual emptiness of idols or men and corporate churches which ultimately brings eternal death.
31:5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
Messiah the Christ will descend from heaven through the air to set foot on the Mount of Olives to destroy the wicked gathered there to fight against him.
31:6 Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
Repent from all past sins and turn to live by every Word of God the Almighty!
31:7 For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
Ultimately all idols will be destroyed, and everything contrary to the Word of God will be removed forever.
Revelation 17:16 And the ten horns [nations] which thou sawest upon the beast [the New Europe], these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
In the day of his coming the nations will fear Christ and they will sincerely repent and turn to God the Father; and when they realize that they have been deceived and duped, they shall turn against and destroy false religion: Thus helping to fulfill the destruction of all idols, and wickedness, and false teachings, and sin out of the world.
Isaiah 31:8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited. 31:9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
When Christ comes he will destroy the armies of the wicked at Jerusalem, both the armies of the New Federal Europe the ten nation biblical Babylon the Great, and the armies of Asia.
Isaiah 32:1 Behold, a king [Messiah the King of kings] shall reign in righteousness [of every Word of God], and princes [God’s resurrected faithful] shall rule in [sound godly] judgment.
Messiah the Christ will rule with the righteousness of every Word of God and all the rulers in his government shall do likewise.
Take note you leaders and elders; NO person who compromises with any part of the Word of God, or who fails to rebuke sin or tolerates sin and false doctrine; will be a ruler in the Kingdom of God!
32:2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock [Jesus Christ] in a weary land.
Jesus Christ will be a refuge from the winds of false teachings and rebellion against God’s Word which brings suffering and sorrow.
32:3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
When Messiah comes all peoples will see and understand and hear and obey the Word of God.
32:4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
In the Kingdom of God the Holy Spirit will be poured out on all flesh (Joel 2:28) and understanding will be given to the ignorant and a tongue to teach plainly the Word of God.
32:5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal [a generous leader], nor the churl [brutish bully] said to be bountiful. 32:6 For the vile person will speak villainy [teaching his own ways against the Word of God], and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy [calling himself godly when he rejects any zeal to live by God’s Word], and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the [spiritually] hungry, and he will cause the drink [water of God’s Spirit to fail because of wickedness] of the thirsty to fail.
The vile person who teaches compromise and rebellion against the Word of God will no more be considered wise and godly; and the man who withholds the truth of God, instead, teaching his own ways, will no longer be considered full of righteousness.
32:7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
Nicolaitane bullies are always right in their own eyes, even when they are wrong; taking from the poor for their own advantage.
32:8 But the liberal [generous to teach the Word of God] deviseth liberal [teaches out of generosity and not for greed or personal gain] things; and by liberal [his generosity in godliness] things shall he stand.
This lament for the women of the nation is also a lament for the Spiritual Ekklesia which is typified as a woman [the bride] in scripture.
32:9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.
Isaiah speaks of the idolaters in ancient Judah who would be corrected by Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon in a three year siege followed by a seventy year exile in Babylon. This prophecy is dual and spiritually speaks of today’s lukewarm apostates typified by loose women for their spiritual adultery with their idols of men, false traditions and corporate churches: while the faithful and zealous are typified as faithful virgins espoused to Christ.
32:10 Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come. 32:11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins. 32:12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.
32:13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city: 32:14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
The correction of great tribulation in our time, once started; will continue for 42 months and will end with the coming of Christ and the Holy Spirit of the New covenant being poured out on all flesh.
32:15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high [Joel 2:28], and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. 32:16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
After the tribulation when Christ comes, the earth will be sown with truth and with zeal for the righteousness of every Word of God.
32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
The teaching of Christ to live by every Word of God (Mat 4:4) is what truly brings PEACE by reconciling people to God the Father in heaven. Tolerating sin and false teachings only brings division from God the Father and Jesus Christ and from each other, as each one does what is right in their own eyes instead of living by every Word of God.
32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; 32:19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
Even in times of trial all those who put their trust in the LORD to learn of his ways and to live by God’s Word will have peace of mind and the sure assurance that the promises of the Mighty Faithful One: SHALL be fulfilled!
32:20 Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.
Blessed are all those who trust in the Eternal and are filled with the waters of his Spirit, sowing the truth and spreading the righteousness of the Word of God.
All those who tolerate lies [false doctrines] and compromise with the Word of God; are accursed from God the Father and from Jesus Christ!
Isaiah 33:1 Woe to thee [woe to the selfish and greedy who take and take for themselves] that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled [who abuse others who did only good]; and dealest treacherously [against those who were honest], and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the [Holy] Spirit [obedience to God] shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
The Eternal God will correct the wicked.
Isaiah 33:2 O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
The Eternal will be a refuge for all those who trust in him and live by every Word of God.
33:3 At the noise of the tumult [the coming of Christ] the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.
At the coming of Messiah the armies of the nations will be scattered.
33:4 And your spoil [the remnant of Israel] shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
All Israel will gather together in a tight mass around the arriving Christ to serve God the Father!
33:5 The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
Messiah the Christ shall be exalted over every man and nation, as KING of all kings under God the Father.
33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
The Word of God is wisdom and knowledge which will stand forever; those who compromise with the sound doctrine [teachings] of the Word of God are spiritually ignorant and most foolish, for they tread the path of pride and self-will to their own destruction.
33:7 Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly. 33:8 The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man. 33:9 The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
Men of peace will weep over the wars of the tribulation, while the men of war will soon cry out for peace in their extremity.
33:10 Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
Then the Eternal will rise up to save humanity.
33:11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you. 33:12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
The wicked shall be as fuel for the fire of God.
33:13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
Then all people will acknowledge the authority of God the Father and will turn to sincere repentance and Christ-zeal to live by every Word of God.
33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
In the tribulation the wicked hypocrites will be made very afraid before the judgment of God.
33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
The zealous for the righteousness of the Word of God shall be delivered and their refuge is sure.
33:16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. 33:17 Thine eyes shall see the king [Messiah the KING] in his beauty: they shall behold the land [of promise, which is eternal life] that is very far off.
Those who refuse sin and reject tolerating false teachings, those who will not hear or learn to do evil, those who walk zealously in every Word of God and speak the truth; shall surely be protected from the wrath of God.
33:18 Thine heart shall meditate [think about the terrors] terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers? 33:19 Thou [In the tribulation the righteous will be delivered while the wicked will be severely corrected.] shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.
Those zealous for the righteousness of every Word of God will be delivered, and they shall be hidden by their God in a sure place, so that they will not see the fierce armies of the correction of the tribulation.
33:20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities [Temple, Feasts and religion]: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken. 33:21 But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley [warship] with oars, neither shall gallant ship [warship] pass thereby.
The godly that are zealous for the will and Word of God shall see Jerusalem a city of peace ruling over all the earth! The proud and self-willed who think the sound doctrine of God is of little importance shall fill the graves.
33:22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
The lovers of every Word of God the Father and Jesus Christ will greatly rejoice in the Eternal their God and King, forever!
33:23 Thy tacklings are loosed [like failing rigging on a sailing ship, the things which the wicked trust in will fail]; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
The wicked will not be able to defend themselves against Messiah the Christ, and they will be broken like the broken mast of a ship in a storm.
33:24 And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
When he comes Jesus Christ will deliver humanity from bondage to Satan and sin, and most will turn to cleave to their Deliverer and to God the Father with a whole heart in passionate, enthusiastic, exuberant zeal to live by every Word of God!
