Job 35:1 Elihu spake moreover, and said, 35:2 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s? 35:3 For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I [repent and be cleansed] be cleansed from my sin? 35:4 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
If we sin do we damage God? If we are righteous does that give anything to God? Who are we to think that we can teach God anything? It is HE who teaches US; Not we who teach HIM!
35:5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou. 35:6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? 35:7 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
Our good or evil only affects ourselves and other physical things.
35:8 Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man. 35:9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
Wicked men do not acknowledge God and his Word
35:10 But none [of the unrepentant wicked] saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; 35:11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven? 35:12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
Trust in God for he judges all men and he has no patience with self-justification.
35:13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it. 35:14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
Job trusted in his wealth as an indication of his own righteousness and did not truly trust in God who gives and takes away these physical things. Sound familiar? Today’s called out put their trust in numbers and income as a [false] measure of their righteousness; therefore God will take away the riches in which we trust in order to turn us back to him!
35:15 But now, because it is not so, he [God] hath visited in his anger; yet he [Job and friends do not understand] knoweth it not in great extremity: 35:16 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
Job 36:1 Elihu also proceeded, and said, 36:2 Suffer [be patient and permit me to speak] me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf. 36:3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar [from God’s inspiration], and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
36:4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge [God] is with thee [teaching Job through affliction].
God is fair and just
36:5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom. 36:6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
The righteous who learn and live by every Word of God will be resurrected and set as kings on their thrones.
36:7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are [will be] exalted.
If the righteous are afflicted it is for their own good, to perfect them and train them for future glory
36:8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction; 36:9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded. 36:10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall [in eternity] spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures [for the things of God are a pleasure to the faithful]. 36:12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
Those who tolerate false doctrine and sin for the sake of organizational “unity” will be sternly corrected, along with all those who compromise with or break any part of the Word of God.
The hypocrites who place burdens on others that they will not bear themselves, and who sin or do not practice what they teach, will be destroyed.
36:13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath : they cry not when he bindeth them. [upon themselves] 36:14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
God delivers the poor in the spirit of self-will and feeds them; opening his ears to their cries.
36:15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
God would have delivered Job, except that Job fell into wickedness through justifying himself against God
36:16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness. 36:17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
The Unpardonable Sin
Job is warned that he is about to be destroyed by God for justifying himself against God; just like today’s Spiritual Ekklesia is facing destruction for justifying themselves against God and his Word in order to remain faithful to their idols of men, false traditions and organizations.
Job was an otherwise righteous man, but today’s called out Spiritual Ekklesia is full of sin and is in very grave danger of the unpardonable sin! Which unpardonable sin IS pride and self-justification against God and a refusal to repent!
If we refuse to repent, justifying ourselves against God; there is no more sacrifice for our sins (Heb 10:26)!
The great tribulation correction is the only thing that can SAVE the various organizations of today’s Spiritual Ekklesia from damnation. Today the tribulation is the only thing which can save many of us from our proud self-justification and refusal to repent and our rejection of zeal for God’s Word for OUR OWN false traditions, organizations and men!
It is not for nothing that Jesus Christ WARNED US that he will spew us out of his body!
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Brethren, Jesus Christ was getting angry with Job’s self-justification, and God IS ANGRY with today’s Assemblies and brethren for the same sin [even though we are far more sinful than Job ever was]! Self-justification brings a REFUSAL to REPENT because we are just in our own eyes!
Self-justification is the great sin that required God’s correction to save Job spiritually, and it is the great sin which requires God’s correction for the various organizations of today’s Spiritual Ekklesia who will be rejected by God the Father and Jesus Christ and corrected in the affliction of great tribulation in the hope that we might, like Job; be saved.
Job 36:18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
Will Jesus Christ esteem us when we justify ourselves against God the Father, against the Word of God and against HIM? Quickly repent and turn to live by every Word of God, because NOTHING can deliver us from the wrath of God.
36:19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength. 36:20 Desire not the night [Do not embrace pride and the darkness of spiritual self-justification against God which brings the correction of Almighty God.], when people are cut off in their place.
Choose repentance and humility before God and his Word, and flee from all self-justification, pride and iniquity.
36:21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
Remember that God is our Teacher: What is man that he presumes to know better than the Word of God? STOP calling the Sabbath Holy and then routinely polluting it!
Stop exalting loyalty to men, false traditions, or organization, as if being loyal to them was loyalty to God! Stop committing spiritual adultery with our own little tin gods of men; exalting them above the Word of the Almighty!
STOP exalting ourselves and not exalting our Mighty Savior to live by every Word of God!
36:22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him? 36:23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity? 36:24 Remember that thou [should] magnify his work, which men behold. 36:25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
God is great, He is Mighty, He is Wise! Who is man to justify himself before his Maker?
36:26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
See how these things of nature were understood thousands of years ago? Ancient man was NOT ignorant man!
36:27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: 36:28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
36:29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise [the thunder] of his tabernacle [clouds]? 36:30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
By the rain from God the people are fed with the produce of the earth.
36:31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
36:32 With clouds he covereth [can hide the light] the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. 36:33 The noise [thunder comes of the clouds] thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also [are fed by the watering of the grass] concerning the vapour.
The Might and Wisdom of GOD!
NEVER justify ourselves; tremble before God and his Word: HEAR HIM and KEEP His wise Word!
Job 37:1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place. 37:2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth. 37:3 He directeth it [His Word] under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
From the cloud and the lightening God roars and thunders his voice: HEAR YE HIM!
37:4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay [delay his words] them when his voice is heard.
The Might and Wisdom of GOD!
37:5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
37:6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. 37:7 He sealeth up the hand of every man [gives understanding of physical things]; that all men may know his work.
God has programmed the behavior of the brute beasts
37:8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places. 37:9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north [in the northern hemisphere].
37:10 By the breath of God [moist wind in the cold] frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened [the seas are contained].
God established the weather patterns
37:11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud: 37:12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
God often uses the weather, either for our correction or for a good blessing
37:13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
Job is exhorted to listen to the wondrous works of God and to stop justifying himself against God. Today’s church groups should also see these words and LISTEN and repent of justifying themselves against God: Lest they undergo the exact same correction Job did.
The latter day beloved of God who have become lukewarm and faithless will be cast into the furnace of great tribulation so that by afflicting the flesh the spirit might be saved.
What is our sin you ask? We reject godly knowledge to exalt our own ways and false traditions making the Word of God of no effect.
Matthew 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Brethren, besides being a book of great wisdom and instruction: what happened to Job is a warning to today’s Spiritual Ekklesia.
We have a certain appearance and we pay lip service to godliness; but we justify ourselves and our own self-righteousness; and justifying ourselves, we refuse to sincerely repent and give up our own false ways to live by every Word of God the Almighty!
Like Job we will be afflicted until we learn to stop justifying ourselves and we sincerely repent of our own ways to embrace and live by EVERY WORD of ALMIGHTY GOD!
Oh, how God truly loves his people, his obstinate children; who think they know better than him; and because he loves us so very much, we are set for a good spanking to save us from ourselves.
Revelation 3: 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Understand the greatness and wisdom of God and sincerely repent of justifying ourselves against God!
Job 37:14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
37:15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine? 37:16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge? 37:17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
37:18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass? 37:19 Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness [our ignorance compared to God’s wisdom].
37:20 Shall it be told him [God] that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
The wisdom of man is nothing compared to the wisdom of God.
God’s throne is in the heights of the North. The north wind is analogous of God’s Word chasing away the clouds of spiritual darkness.
37:21 And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them [chases the clouds away] . 37:22 Fair weather cometh out of the north [the north wind clearing the clouds]: with God is terrible majesty.
37:23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict [unjustly].
37:24 [Righteous] Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of [wise in their own minds, justifying themselves against God’s wisdom] heart.
