God commanded Jeremiah to blast the trumpet of warning by crying aloud and sparing not; for the time of the fall of Jerusalem to Nebuchadnezzar was almost at hand.
In this latter day our fall is also at hand, and the warning to repent or be corrected is going out to the brotherhood.
Jeremiah 6:1 O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.
God had removed ten tribes from the line of David and left Benjamin to remain with Judah; Benjamin did not go to Assyria with the Ten Tribes of Israel.
6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.
The daughter of Zion is the latter day Spiritual Ekklesia and today’s Israel/Judah, which are now facing serious correction for turning away from God.
6:3 The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place. 6:4 Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out. 6:5 Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
Jerusalem was surrounded by the armies of Babylon, and later by the armies of Rome which destroyed her. In this latter day both physical Israel/Judah and the spiritual Jerusalem of the New Covenant Ekklesia will also be sternly corrected for all our many sins.
Today’s spiritual temple is the people in whom God dwells; even so Jerusalem is the place of the physical temple, and therefore also represents the people of God; BOTH spiritual and temporal.
6:6 For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her. 6:7 As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.
Physical and spiritual Jerusalem are full of oppression, sin and false ways
6:8 Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
Repent quickly, physical and spiritual Jerusalem, lest the Lord our Maker reject us into the furnace of affliction (Rev 3:14-22).
6:9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.
Today spiritual and physical Israel/Judah will be corrected to the point where there is only a remnant of the people left like the gleaning remaining after the harvest.
Like the ancients, today’s physical and spiritual Israel/Judah have no love for the Word of God and cleave to their own ways.
6:10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
Today’s Spiritual Ekklesia has no delight in living by every Word of God; delighting instead in their own ways and their idols of men, organizations and the false traditions of men, loving them more than they love the Word of God and the Lord of our espousal.
Those who do what men say, contrary to what the whole Word of God says; are preferring men more than God: They are preferring the words of men more than the whole Word of God!
6:11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days. 6:12 And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD. 6:13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness [selfishness]; and from the prophet even unto the priest [minister] every one dealeth falsely.
God the Father and Jesus Christ are weary with enduring our idolatry and with warning us; they are ready to reject us and vomit us out of the body of the faithful; casting us into the bitterness of strong correction (Rev 3:16).
6:14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Today’s Assemblies tell the brethren that no harm shall come upon them as long as they are loyal to the men and organizations; thereby exalting themselves above the ONLY One who can save them.
6:15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Are we at all ashamed of following men instead of being faithful to God? No, not at all! We deem ourselves godly as we rush after our false idols of men, who teach contrary to the Word of God.
6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Repent quickly and take the true path of salvation revealed in the whole Word of God.
6:17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
The watchmen sounded the alarm in ancient Jerusalem and the people would not believe the warnings. Today the alarm is being sounded but the physical nations and most of the spiritual brethren WILL NOT listen; for they think themselves righteous in their sins.
6:18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. 6:19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
Messiah the Christ will correct us and bring the consequences of our evil doing upon our own heads. Why? Because we have turned from away from any zeal to live by every Word of God to a zeal for our own ways; polluting God’s Sabbath and High Days and loving and idolizing men above our love for our Maker and for the whole Word of God.
6:20 To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
Why do we pray and give offerings when we continue in our sins? Without true sincere repentance our prayers and offerings will NOT be acceptable to God the Father or to Jesus Christ.
Because those calling themselves by the name of God the Father do not do the will of God the Father; we stumble in the confusion of our own ways. Is this not self-evidently happening in today’s Spiritual Ekklesia? Split through and through and often in competition, envying and jealous of one another.
FOR SHAME! For Shame that we are come to such a DISGRACE, which is the fruit if each one going his own way instead of being faithful to learn and to live by every Word of God.
6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
6:22 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth. 6:23 They shall lay hold on bow and spear [weapons]; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
Just as God told Jeremiah the enemy in the form of the army of Babylon came and destroyed Jerusalem and the temple removing most of the people to Babylon.
Today, Babylon the Great in the form of a now rising New Federal Europe will occupy Jerusalem and today’s nations of Israel and the apostate Spiritual Ekklesia will also be corrected by God.
6:24 We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail. 6:25 Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.
The city Jerusalem feared Nebuchadnezzar and when the New Europe rises the Spiritual Ekklesia will be afraid, yet most will still stand on their false traditions and idols of men ignoring the warnings from God, only to fall into the great affliction that we fear.
6:26 O daughter [the latter day descendant nations] of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
6:27 I have set thee [Jeremiah, or any true man of God] for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
God sends his servants to warn the people, to test them and learn if they will repent or not.
6:28 They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters. 6:29 The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away. 6:30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
All those who will not sincerely repent when corrected, will be destroyed. Those that the Master Refiner cannot purify from their sins because they will not repent, will be destroyed.
Jeremiah 7:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 7:2 Stand in the gate of the LORD’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
Jeremiah was commanded to stand in the very gate of the temple to warn Jerusalem and Judea to repent. Even so a warning is coming to the very gates of the Spiritual Temple of the Ekklesia today: Sincerely repent and turn to God, for why will you die?
7:3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
Repent and learn and live by every Word of God and we will be established; reject the Word of God for our own ways and corporate idols, and we shall be corrected.
7:4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.
Do not trust in lying words saying that we are the true Spiritual Ekklesia and no evil shall come upon us; for God’s temple in Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, therefore he will most certainly correct us for committing the same sins as ancient Israel/Judah.
7:5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; 7:6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: 7:7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
If we sincerely repent of polluting God’s Sabbath and idolizing men, corporate organizations and false traditions; if we sincerely repent of our spiritual idolatry and spiritual adulteries with the false gods of our idols of men; We will be forgiven and established.
7:8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
Do not trust in the lies of men; who lie saying that organizational loyalty is synonymous with loyalty to God.
We commit spiritual adultery against the Husband of our baptismal espousal sinning against our baptismal vow, the leaders steal God’s funds to spend excessively on their false gods [building great buildings and buying memorabilia of some man to remember their human idol] and on themselves.
We follow leaders and elders who deceive with part truths and often lie, we call ourselves godly and then persecute those who are zealous to live by every Word of God. For the most part we will not rebuke sin, nor will we teach the righteousness of the whole Word of God.
We pollute the weekly Sabbath and Holy Days and we reject the Biblical teaching regarding the calendar, keeping God’s High Days on our own humanly devised dates and not on God’s dates. We are full of stubborn self-will and pride, imagining ourselves righteous and godly and in need of nothing (Rev 3:14-22), to the point where we will not even faithfully keep the Word of God.
7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; 7:10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? 7:11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
Jesus cast the wicked out of the temple for selling sacrificial animals on the Sabbath and for cheating the people as well. Jesus did this as a warning that he will also cleanse today’s Spiritual Ekklesia which is a spiritual temple and the dwelling place of God’s Spirit.
7:12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
Look and see what Jesus Christ did to the place of the tabernacle at Shiloh, and today we also have the example of the destruction of the temple at Jerusalem by the Babylonians and the later destruction of the rebuilt temple by the Romans!
Let us sincerely repent and quickly, lest this evil come upon the today’s Spiritual Ekklesia for committing the same sins.
To call ourselves the people of God is a meaningless lie unless we truly become the people of God through learning and zealously living by every Word of God.
7:13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; 7:14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
God through Jeremiah told the people that he would destroy the temple at Jerusalem by the army of Babylon just as he allowed the place of the tabernacle at Shiloh to be destroyed.
The destruction of the physical Jerusalem temple is an example for today’s Spiritual Ekklesia that God will bring his spiritual temple down for our sins just as he brought down Shiloh and later Jerusalem.
If we sin as they did and we most certainly are sinning as they did; we will meet the very same correction that they did; regardless of the claims we make and the name we label ourselves with.
Jeremiah called on Judah to remember how that most of Ephraim had been cast out of the land and had already been removed to Assyria years earlier.
Calling ourselves godly; does NOT make us godly!
7:15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. 7:16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
God told Jeremiah the prophet to Judah that he would remove Judah from the land just as he had removed Ephraim and the ten tribes years earlier.
7:17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
Making cakes to the Queen of heaven refers to Easter [Astarte, Diana] buns; and the traditional round birthday cake, with the smoke of its candles rising up to the Queen of heaven.
A point of interest: The statue called Liberty in New York, is Aphrodite [Astarte, Diana] given to the Masons of the United States as a gift from the Masons of France; and many swell with pride before it.
7:19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? 7:20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
Physically and spiritually we worship false gods by blindly following the teachings of men contrary to the Word of God. The anger of God the Father and Jesus Christ will be poured out on all those who break either the letter or the spirit of any part of the whole Word of God.
7:21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. 7:22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
The several different sacrifices were commanded at Sinai after all Israel had been delivered from bondage in Egypt. God wants our sincere repentance and he wants us to learn and to live by every Word of God so that we may be perfect as he is perfect, so that we may become like God, living as God lives.
LEARN and KEEP the whole Word of God! That is what we have been called to do!
7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 7:24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
Physical Israel/Judah rebelled against the Word of God, which rebellion brought the need for sacrifices to atone for sin; even so today’s Spiritual Ekklesia has been deceived and led away from the whole Word of God into man worship, false traditions and organizational idolatry.
God does not want sacrifice he wants us to live by every Word of God, so that there will be no more need for sacrifice.
7:25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: 7:26 Yet they [physical and spiritual Israel] hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
Tragically these words can be said to and about today’s Spiritual Ekklesia and modern Israel/Judah as well.
7:27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee. 7:28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Jesus Christ will reject all those who have espoused themselves to him as a Spiritual Ekklesia and then turned away to follow after other lovers [idols of men].
God will severely correct all those who have become cold for their espoused Husband and living by every Word of God to follow false traditions, running after and bowing down before idols of men who cannot save them.
Today, many love corporate entity or some of its elders, leaders or social life; MORE than they love God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Word of God!
People tell me all the time: “Oh how I love the Church” not realizing that loving men and organizations overmuch by loving them more than they love God the Father and Jesus Christ and the Word of God: is IDOLATRY! It is a major sin which separates us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ.
Jerusalem was the place of the physical temple and this is a reference to today’s Spiritual Ekklesia as the spiritual temple of God the Father through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
7:29 Cut off thine hair [cast aside our pride], O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
The hair of a woman is her glory and her pride; God commands Jerusalem to shave their heads as a type of casting aside our pride, because we are full of spiritual adultery, loving false gods instead of our spiritual Husband.
God calls us to mourn in true sincere repentance!
7:30 For the children of [physical and spiritual] Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
Today’s Spiritual Ekklesia and Israel/Judah have turned away from God, and need to quickly repent.
Much of today’s Spiritual Ekklesia and Israel/Judah has polluted herself by teaching false traditions and the exalting of idols of men to be equal with or superior to the Word of God.
7:31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
Much of today’s Spiritual Ekklesia sacrifices our children to our idols by teaching them to exalt men and organizations [our idols] above the whole Word of God.
Do we not teach our children to obey our idols of men and our false traditions above living by every Word of God? And in so doing we dedicate them to our idols and set them on the path to their destruction.
7:32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place. 7:33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
Our idols of men and false traditions will be destroyed, and we will be severely corrected until we become totally disillusioned with our false traditions and false teachings and sincerely repent and turn to live by every Word of God: The unrepentant will surely die in their sin.
7:34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem and removed the inhabitants; and today God will severely correct both physical Judah/Israel and today’s Spiritual Ekklesia until they sincerely repent.
