Isaiah 60 – 61

Isaiah 60

A prophecy of the coming of Christ to Jerusalem, the city’s restoration and its exaltation as the capital of the entire earth.

This is a prophecy of the coming of Christ, who is here revealed as part of the LORD [YHVH] family.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light [Messiah the Christ (John 1)] is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon [Christ is come to Jerusalem] thee. 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

All nations will flow to Jerusalem to worship God at the Ezekiel Temple; and the resurrected chosen will be teachers [kings and priests] of the righteousness of every Word of God.

60:4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. 60:5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear [People will respect God and the Word of God.], and [the sincerely repentant shall be blessed] be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea [The waters of the sea represent the many peoples oi all nations covering the earth.] shall be converted unto [all nations will come to God the Father and to Jesus Christ] thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Even the Gentiles will serve Jesus Christ and worship God the Father through living by every Word of God.

The whole earth will come to worship God the Father at the Ezekiel Temple in Jerusalem.

60:6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee [Multitudes of people will cover the land with their transport as people come up to worship God bringing many gifts.], the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba [India] shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD. 60:7 All the flocks of Kedar [Arabia] shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

All the tribes of a united Israel and Judah will be restored to Palestine, the land of promise.

60:8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows? 60:9 Surely the isles [far off nations] shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy [the scattered of Israel] sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

The Gentiles will help to build the temple as Jesus Christ glorifies Jerusalem as his capital and the place of God’s Temple.

60:10 And the sons of strangers [foreigners and Gentiles] shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee [will serve God and help build up Jerusalem]: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

People from all nations will be continually coming up to Jerusalem to help build the city and Temple, and then to worship God the Father and exalt the King of kings

60:11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

All nations will sincerely repent and come to serve God in his holy city, Jerusalem.

60:12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

60:13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet [the House of God]  glorious. 60:14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending [the knee in submission] unto thee [the capital of the earth, Jerusalem the city of God]; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

60:15 Whereas thou has been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

The millennial [and beyond] Jerusalem will be fed by the gifts of nations from far away.

60:16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the [be nourished by the Gentiles] Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD [YHVH] am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Again Messiah [Jesus Christ] is called YHVH!

60:17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

The city and the earth will be physically rich and will also be filled with the righteousness of the whole Word of God; and the teachers and rulers of the people will be righteous, teaching all people to live by every Word of God.

The holiness of God will fill the city, and the whole earth will be filled with the salvation of God and his praise.

Isaiah begins to prophesy of the New Jerusalem and the Eighth Day Feast; which represents eternity with mankind at peace and in harmony with God the Father.

60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

60:19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. 60:20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. 60:22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

The zealous overcomer will inherit eternal life; and all those who turn away from living by every Word of God will be destroyed.

21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

The New Jerusalem is a cube 1,500 miles on each side

21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits [about 250 feet], according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

Only those zealous to learn and to live by every Word of God will be allowed to enter the city.

Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, ormaketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Isaiah 61

A prophecy about the physical coming of Yeshua Mashiach [Jesus Christ] in the first century.

What he did the first time in Judea was an example of what Christ will do in the whole earth when he returns.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek [to teach repentance to those humble before God]; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted [heal the contrite of spirit], to proclaim liberty to [to those in bondage to sin] the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound [in the grave];

To proclaim salvation and the second coming of Messiah

61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn [mourn over the overspreading of sinfulness];

Christ will give to the repentant, those zealous for the whole Word of God; Joy, Beauty and Righteousness in eternal life.

Trees are used here as types of men

61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.  61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

Under Jesus Christ the KING of kings, the earth will be rebuilt in righteousness and harmonious beauty.

61:5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

The remnant of the Palestinians, Syrians, Turks and Jordanians will sincerely repent and turn to live by every Word of God, and will become independent protectorates of a greater Israel, forgetting all their former hatred against Judah.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince [ruler] of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The overcoming resurrected chosen will become kings and priests [teachers and guides] under God the Father’s High Priest Jesus Christ [Hebrew: Yeshua Mashiach]

Isaiah 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Both spiritual AND physical Israel will have a double portion compared to the nations; to help them to turn the whole world to God (Zech 8:23).

61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they [spiritual and physical Israel] shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

Jesus Christ loves fairness, justice and the sound judgment of the whole Word of God; he hates the ministry using spiritual extortion for excessive offerings.  The people should give offerings as they can afford and as they have been blessed, not because they are talked into giving more than they can afford.

61:8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Jesus Christ will direct those zealous for God’s Word, in the truth of the whole Word of God.  The New Covenant of marriage between Jesus Christ and his resurrected chosen shall be an everlasting Covenant; but the unrepentant will be cast into the fire of perdition.

61:9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

A repentant physical Israel will be blessed and a repentant and zealous spiritual Israel will be greatly blessed; but the unrepentant shall pass into nothingness.

61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation [which is the learning and the keeping of the whole Word of God] , he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

61:11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness [living by every Word of God] and praise [of God] to spring forth before all the nations.

The whole Word of God with all of its teachings [doctrine] and wisdom is beautiful!
