1 John 1

Love and the Law of God

Almost all religions define love as positive actions towards other people and neglect putting love for God first.  In short they exalt loving man above loving God and so make an idol out of humanity as more important than God.

Yes, God commands us to love our neighbor, but that is the second command; the first command is to live by every Word of God  (Mat 4:4, Mat 22:36-40).

In truth the greatest love that we can give humanity is to love and obey God first, so as to set an example of the way to eternal salvation for mankind.

True godly “love” is defined as zealously living by every Word of God.

First God, then man!

If we keep God’s Word first, we will automatically love and do good to others because God is love!  But if we love man and do not faithfully love and obey God more; we have fallen off our foundation and we cannot know how to properly love humanity!

The Word of God is the definition of real godly love, and to be filled with God’s love we MUST live by every Word of God, which defines godly love; for Faith without Works [words without actions] is DEAD.

Only those who follow Christ’s example and live by every Word of GOD: who actually sincerely repent and turn from living contrary to the Word of God will be justified by the atoning sacrifice of Christ.

Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified [by the application of the sacrifice of Christ].

At this time Satan KNOWS that his time is now very short!

He has launched a “Full Court Press” to destroy God’s people from within; as he inspired Balaam to teach the people to sin and thereby offend God to bring God’s wrath down upon them.

This was foretold of the last days.

Revelation 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

Satan seeks to ensnare us in the sins of spiritual idolatry and spiritual fornication [pornea] by enticing us to follow others in place of our LORD.

These are BOTH physical AND spiritual sins. This is about the sin of exalting men and organizations [spiritual idolatry and adultery] ABOVE the Word of God.

This is about doing whatever the church leader or elder says instead of comparing what they say against the scripture and then; Doing What God Says.

Revelation 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

This is about the spiritual adultery of doing what anyone other than God our Father and our espoused HUSBAND Jesus Christ commands and not zealously living by EVERY WORD of GOD our Father!

Following men to do what they say is right instead of living by every Word of God, is now rampant in this world and in today’s spiritual Ekklesia as well!

Religions today undermine the basic core doctrines of God’s Word by interpreting the MEANING of God’s Word according to their own imaginations, just as others have done through the ages.

They have long ago managed to divide the Word of God from the works of faith [the practical doing] and establish the sinful attitude that:  Love for neighbor is the first priority and is above love for God and zeal for God’s Word!

Jesus Christ made it abundantly clear that love for God is demonstrated by obedience to God; and is the foundation of true godly love of mankind!

Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

We are to live by every Word of God as God gave it, and NOT according to any personal or Church organizational interpretation.

Revelation 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.

Most of today’s church groups are full of the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes which Jesus Christ and God the Father HATE! This doctrine exalts men as supposed authorities BETWEEN the brethren and God.

This is a SPIRITUAL battle!

Satan is behind this perversion in a concerted attempt to turn the people away from God and into rebellion against God’s Word in the disguise of a fake supposed “love,” so that God himself will reject and destroy his people for not loving him or mankind as defined in the Word of God!

Brethren, if they do not quickly and sincerely repent, the MAJORITY today WILL end up being rejected by God the Father and Jesus Christ for their idolatry and spiritual adultery and Nicolaitane abuse of their brethren. (Rev 3:15).

Matthew 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 24:49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Unless we REPENT and start keeping ALL of God’s commandments with passionate enthusiasm; we will be rejected by God the Father and Jesus Christ.

We have Christ’s OWN PROMISE:

Matthew 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

It is absolutely NECESSARY to seek God our Father with ALL our hearts and to be solidly grounded on the issues of Law and Grace, Faith and Works; and to KNOW and understand these things so as to fight the spiritual battle now raging in  the assemblies.

1 John 1

John begins by saying that they had seen and touched the Living Word in the flesh [the LOGOS spoken of by the prophets]; Jesus Christ.  John is openly declaring that Christ existed eternally and was with God the Father before he gave up his Godhood to be made flesh and manifested unto men.

1 John 1, That which was from the beginning [He who existed before creation], which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 1:2 For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us, [who gave up his Godhood to be made flesh and shown to us]; 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you. that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

The disciples including John, had witnessed these things and they have written about what they have witnessed with their own eyes and heard with their own ears; so that other called out disciples might believe and be encouraged.

1:4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

God is Light which is knowledge and truth, and there is no darkness of ignorance, falsehood or sin in God at all.

1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him, [in God] is no darkness at all. 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him [are united with God], and walk in darkness [do not live by every Word of God in Christ-like zeal], we lie, and do not the truth, [for if we are in darkness while he is light we have no fellowship with him].

John 8:12   Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, . . .

If we keep the Word of God the Father, as the Father and Christ live by it; we are living in the light of Godliness!

Those who live in the light of God the Father’s Word, will be in unity with the Father and with other like-minded persons; they will be cleansed from all past darkness of sin by sincere repentance and the application of the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ; and by internalizing and living by the whole Word of God they shall also overcome sin and become Light as God is Light!

Romans 2:13 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

1 John 1:7 . . . .  we have fellowship [unity] one with another [through each person’s unity with God], and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we are of God and the Light of God; we will be in unity with God and in unity with all others who are also in unity with God.

When God the Father calls us into the light of his ways and his Word, a response of sincere repentance and a baptismal commitment to STOP sinning, results in the application of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ which redeems us from the repented sin and reconciles us to God the Father.

This brings us into a relationship with God  the Father, who will then empower us to live by every Word of God through the gift of God’s Spirit dwelling in us.

We MUST then REMAIN  “IN THE LIGHT” through zealously living by every Word God as Jesus Christ did. Then our light will shine as a godly example to all men through zealously living by EVERY WORD of GOD the Father.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Jesus Christ came to keep every Word of God the Father as an example that we should do likewise.

5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1:9 if we confess [sincerely repent of our sins and commit to go and sin no more] our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, . . .

If we confess our sins before God the Father and sincerely repent of them, resolving to STOP breaking God’s Law and Word and to begin seeking the Father’s help in overcoming all sin, then we will be cleansed from the darkness and ignorance of sin; which is living contrary to any part of the Word of God.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make God a liar, and his word is not in us.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
