WHY TheShiningLight?

What is our purpose? What is the reason for this effort? As I looked around at all the many different groups calling themselves the Church of God, I saw only great confusion. Every group claimed to be the true church, yet most of them were declaring how they were more loyal to some man than any other group. I saw no group who was loyal to GOD. NO group who was willing to grow as the Word and Spirit of God led. As a result there was stagnation! NO developement, NO growth, just an attempt to cling to teachings first presented decades ago. The HOLY SCRIPTURES DECLARE that many things were SEALED until the very end! Dan 12:9. Yet at the end; The wise SHALL understand Dan 12:10.

Who then; Are the wise? Wisdom begins with the fear of God Job 28:28. Those who obey God, will be given His Spirit Acts 5:32. Those who are humble before God who have a deep respect and a certain fear, will get wisdom. How? By listening to the ultimate TEACHER, the Word of GOD! Jesus Christ is the KING of KINGS, the GOOD SHEPHERD, not you, or me, or any man. Our GREAT GOD has given us human teachers to help us to LEARN from HIM! To turn us to HIM! To FOCUS us on HIM! HE is the LOVING FATHER, HE knows the way to LIFE. Brethren, we have fallen short. We have relied on many out of date teachings of men for understanding of things which were declared sealed by GOD. Because of this there is NO UNDERSTANDING of the prophets or growth in knowlege, for we have NOT relied upon the WORD of GOD.

Let us consider for a moment. If Almighty God should send us his two prophets at this time, could we recognize them? If two men claiming to be prophets came to YOU and said; Lets go, it's time to get out of here. Evil is coming upon this land. Would YOU BELIEVE THEM! I THINK NOT! To recognize them, to believe them, you would need to be GROUNDED in SOUND DOCTRINE. You would have to understand the Holy Scriptures. You would need to recognize the signs of the times. You would need to have enough OIL in your lamp, which oil ONLY comes through putting God FIRST and a continual STUDY of HIS WORD, PRAYERFULLY seeking UNDERSTANDING from HIM. If they delivered their warning, we would need time to study, time to consider and time to digest and understand those new things being revealed, before we could come to an informed and intelligent decision. That is the function of TheShiningLight! To provide a certain EARLY WARNING. To get people THINKING. To PREPARE the people of God for the DECISION, the TEST that lies ahead.

It is the PURPOSE of TheShiningLight to turn God's people BACK toward HIM! To FOCUS HIS people on the things of God. To RESTORE SOUND DOCTRINE. TO REVEAL those things which have been SEALED. To PREPARE a people to MEET THEIR GOD! To EDUCATE His people in His Word so that they may recognize His prophets! As Paul went first to the Jew and then to the Gentile, we go first to the Children of God our Father and then to the world. Our message is a message of WARNING! BEHOLD THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH! And it is a Message of HOPE: For His REWARD is with HIM! There is a GOOD REWARD for ALL those who LOVE HIM and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS!

TheShiningLight Expectations

One of the most divisive and controversial issues in the various groups making up the Church of God today is the identity of the King of the South. This issue is vital and it's importance to understanding present events cannot be over emphasized.

I strongly urge everyone to go to the KINGS OF THE NORTH AND SOUTH page at the website and familarize themselves with this subject in order to fully understand what I am writing about here.

Gerald Flurry states that the K of the S is Iran, which is actually East North East and not South of Jerusalem. Dave Pack says that the K of the S is Ethiopia. The leaders of the United and Living COG'S declare that the K of the S does not yet exist but Islamic Extremism will take over in various countries which will then coalesce into that entity. R Weinland says that the K of the S is Islamic Extremists who will begin to bring down the US with multiple nuclear terror attacks by April 08. Most declare that their version will defeat or overcome the USA and move to confront Europe, the King of the North.

Scripture says that Judea and Israel and Egypt will fall together Hos 5:5 and Dan 10:40-43. They shall be taken by the K of the N, which is Europe or Babylon. The King of the North will be confronted by Egypt and the Israelite nations, not by some Islamic group or Iran! The Israelite nations and Egypt will be defeated by the King of the North, NOT by some Islamic confederation or by Iran! The scripture is clear Dan 10:40-43, it is the King of the North that will fight against and defeat Israel and Egypt!

Why would the King of the North attack all the Israelite nations and Egypt in order to fight Islamic Extremism? Are Islamic Extremists allied with Israel today?

Why do these church leaders and groups entertain such non Biblical ideas? Because a paper called The Middle East in Prophecy, written by Herbert Armstrong in the mid 1950's, stated that since Egypt had been controlled by Rome for a time, Egypt was no longer the K of the South. These leaders want to follow a man and not God's Word which states that Daniel's writings were sealed until the time of the end. Dan 12:9. There is NO way that these things could have been understood fifty years ago! There is NO SLIGHT to Herbert Armstrong to say that no man can understand what Almighty God has CONCEALED! Yet these men would rather depend upon their TRADITION, which cannot be true, than to take an honest look at God's Word. They have become blinded by the belief that they know it all and will not look any further.

Friends, the end will NOT come for Israel and America until Peace and Security has been achieved 1 Thess 5:3, 2 Thess 2:3. Israel and America WILL be destroyed by the King of the North during a time of PEACE! There can be NO Peace and Security for Israel until Islamic Extremism has been defeated. Therefore Islamic Extremism WILL be defeated, BEFORE the confrontation between the Israelite nations and Babylon!

Since the teaching of these leaders will FAIL with the DEFEAT of Iran and Islamic Extremism, they will have to deal with that failure. They will probably be unable to admit that they were wrong and so will simply state that the end is farther away than they had thought. There needs to be more time, my Lord delays his coming, will be the cry and most of their followers will accept that and continue to slumber, confused and decieved, playing "follow the leader" instead of following the Word of God.

Some WILL waken! Some WILL begin to ask questions! Some Will begin to THINK and LOOK for answers. That's when TheShiningLight will break forth like the dawn of a new day! Some will say, have you heard of TheShiningLight? They were so different that we couldn't believe them. Now we know that they were RIGHT! They will then begin to study with intensity and begin to SEEK their GOD!

Right now, we are sowing seed, the seed of TRUTH, the seed of GOD'S WORD. In time that seed will germinate and sprout, bearing fruit. Some will respond during the next few months. Later, when their fears come upon them, MANY MORE WILL RESPOND during the hour of trial.

This is our GOAL! This is our PURPOSE! We are helping to prepare a people to meet their GOD! God has been patient for thousands of years, we must be a little patient for a short time. Like the farmer, we must do our part and sow the seed, then we must wait for God to give the increase. Please pray that the hearts of God's children will be turned back to Him so that the Spring Harvest may be BOUNTIFUL!

THE BIBLICAL NEW YEAR ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It has been snowing for much of the last week in Judea and Jerusalem and the temperatures have been unusually cold this winter. The longer that this continues the less likely the Spring Harvest will be ready for the Wave Offering during March and it may become necessary to add a thirteenth month so that that the harvest will be available after Passover. If no unforseen events occur and if God is willing, Brian Convery and Brian Hoeck will be traveling from the USA to Judea in early March. While there, they will be assessing the Spring Harvest and observing the New Moon with a view to determining the beginning of the new Biblical Year. Because the end of the twelfth month is so early in the Spring this year, it is especially valuable to make a personal examination. Those who wish to refresh their minds on this subject should re-read the CALENDAR page at the website.

Both of these gentlemen are in Independent COG Groups and are not directly associated with me. While we may not necessarily agree on every point, they have both dedicated themselves to a very serious and in-depth study of the Biblical Calendar for many years.

I ask each of you to pray for the safety of these gentlemen, their families and companions and to pray that they come to the correct conclusions according to God's will. Without doubt they are playing leading roles in pioneering the rediscovery of this long neglected part of God's Word and are performing a great service for God and His people.

TheShiningLight NEWS

My dear friends, I just want to add here, that while it may be impossible to know the exact timing of various events leading up to the setting up of the abomination, there is one thing that is absolutely certain. Everything is unfolding within the context of God's plan and everything is moving in such a way as to fulfil His holy purpose and will. Our Father is in charge, His Word shall prevail!

NEW ARTICLES

A sequel to the SEVEN CHURCHES page has been added which covers the Laodicean and Philadelphian attitudes and compares them to the Restoration from the Captivity and the time of the Pharisees at the end of the Mosaic Covenant period. The new page is titled THE SEVEN CHURCHES PART 2.

Due to many questions regarding Armageddon and the events of the final 1,335 days, an article entitled BEYOND 2008 has been added. This article does not cover the seals, trumpets and vials but focuses on the actions of the nations during this time.

The article called WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN? has been expanded to include material on being called by God, repentance, commitment and baptism. Being greatly expanded it has been retitled THE WAY TO SALVATION.

An article about the goal and reward of the saints as the priests of God, entitled THE NEW COVENANT PRIESTHOOD has been added to the site.

My dear friends

I would like to share with you my thoughts on the future of TheShiningLight and how things will unfold during the coming months. I am not trying to make a prophecy here, this is just an expression of my hopes and the vision I have for this work.

After first being published on 8 July 07, a small ad at the Journal website brought in a few thousand visitors over the first five months. In Jan 08 an internet ad campaign was launched to take advantage of the interest generated by President Bush's trip to the Middle East, the results of which are stated in the above section.

In the next few months I do expect war to break out in the Middle East, resulting in victory for Israel, the USA and their allies. At that time many hundreds or perhaps thousands of COG people will begin to realize that they have been misled. Their leaders have told them that Islamic Extremists will defeat the US. That there will be no peace until the coming of Christ. Ron Weinland says that Europe will step in and destroy the US to prevent the US from retaliating against Islamic countries ( he makes me wonder what the US has been doing for the last 7 years!). While Gerald Flurrey says that Iran is the King of the South.

These men have taught for some time and their positions are well known. When they are proven false by events, many persons will begin to question and think. They will begin casting about for the truth and I would like to be in a position to renew advertising at that time. To throw a lifeline to the many people who sincerely believe that they are being told the truth now, but who will eventually realize that they have been misled.

It is my sincere hope, that throughout the summer, as a final peace agreement is negotiated, many of God's people will be reached with this warning and that very many will respond. Finally in the Fall, when the detestable abomination is set up and calls for a new order in Europe, many more will respond.

I see this effort as directed toward saving as many of those with a repentant Philadelphian attitude as possible. In light of this, my efforts are directed toward those who claim to be the Church of God. Of course many in the general public will also be warned in consequence of the ads, but at the present time, the PRIORITY is reaching out to and warning the Church of God. I make NO apologies for this. Some leaders may claim that I am raiding their groups. I say that those leaders are also most welcome to respond and turn from their errors.

At the present I DO NOT see myself as one of God's two prophets. I see myself as delivering a message of repentance, warning and hope to the Church of God and helping to prepare those who respond. I see myself as helping to gather God's people out of the confusion presently existing and helping to lead them into the wilderness, to be nourished and protected from the face of the serpent. Make no mistake. I do believe very firmly in Rev 12:14-17. I believe that those two prophets will provide the means, through the power God has given them and that they will then go on to warn the whole world. I also believe that in the wilderness there will be a need for all people to continue to learn, to grow and to overcome and that I might perhaps be of help to some during that time.
