Someone commented the other day on my statement that the Feast of Trumpets was the celebration of a great victory; saying that Fred Coulter also taught that. Just to set the record straight:
Fred Coulter teaches that the first fruits resurrection will take place on Pentecost; that the saints will be at the wedding feast in heaven; until they return to the earth with Christ on the Feast of Trumpets, to be victorious over the beast and false prophet.
This post will reveal that I teach NO SUCH THING!
Fred is completely and absolutely wrong; and I do not teach any such thing. Fred’s Feast of Trumpets teaching is absolutely NOT the same as mine by any means!
To the very best of mny knowledge, this feast material that I present is completely unique in the COG and in the world at large; and is the only explanation consistent with scripture.
The early spring resurrection will take place on the sixth day of ULB, with the marriage feast in heaven; then Christ will come WITH his saints just before Pentecst, with the KOG beginning at Pentecost; the spring harvest will then be capped off with a millennial Sabbath of rest!
AFTER which comes the release of Satan and then the Feast of Trumpets, Atonement, then the Feast of The Ingathering of all nations, or main harvest; to be followed by eternity as represented by the Eighth Day.
Fred is just as wrong about the Feasts as he is about the calendar, and his compromising and pollution of Sabbath.
INTRODUCTION
Some months ago a very sharp lady asked me a few questions which started me off on a very deep, prayrful and serious study of the Feast of Trumpets.
I began this study with a clean slate, wiping away all past teachings taken from commentaries written by uncoverted men, and any past traditionss about a subject which has been sealed to the very end of this age of sin. I prayed and studied the scriptures directly.
Many have taught for decades that the first day of the seventh month [Feast of Trumpets] represents the resurrection of the first fruits and the coming of Christ.
They think this, because they make an assumptive connection between the last trump of Paul and the Feast of Trumpets, seemingly not knowing that trumpets are sounded on ALL New Moons, on ALL Holy Days and over ALL Sacrifices, including the morning and evening sacrifices!
The idea of linking the sounding of trumpets on this Festival, to the resurrection of First fruits, just because this day is a memorial of trumpets, is unreasonable; for trumpets are sounded on EVERY day of the year!
We also know that equating the Feast of Trumpets in the seventh month with the harvest of the First fruits cannot be correct, because the seventh month is in the autumn and would therefore be consistent with the FALL harvest and not the spring harvest.
The spring harvest which is harvested in the spring represents the first fruits.
The Feast of Trumpets:
People equate the seven trumpets of Revelation 8-9 with the Feast of Trumpets because trumpets are sounded all day during the Feast of Trumpets and it is naturally assumed that that represents the sounding of the seven trumpets.
Is this assumption really warranted?
If we read Rev 8 and 9 we quickly come to see that the seven trumpets of Revelation are sounded over a period of well over a year before the seventh trump is sounded! The fifth and sixth trumpets together last for a full two years!
Notice the fifth trumpet lasts for a full five months:
Rev 9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
Now notice the next trumpet to sound, which is still only the sixth trumpet and not the seventh:
Rev 9:12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
The sixth trumpet lasts for a year, month and a day; during which Europe attacks Asia and the Great Asian armies respond and overrun Europe, after which they move south to gather at Jerusalem where the beast and false prophet have established their last stand.
No wonder this trumpet takes more than a year!
The seven trumpets are very obviously NOT all sounded on the Feast of Trumpets!
Not even the seventh trump is sounded on the Feast of Trumpets, for the spring early harvest is reaped in the SPRING and NOT in the autumn!
Let us then set aside the errors that we were taught and take a good look at what the scriptures do say about this Feast Day.
TRUMPETS
The trumpets sounded were shofar or the ram’s horn type. These shofar were sounded to announce the presence of God and to call the people into assembly with God. They were also sounded as alarms of war and for the victorious end of combat.
The scriptures have little to say directly about this memorial of the blowing of trumpets.
כד דַּבֵּר אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, לֵאמֹר: בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִי בְּאֶחָד
לַחֹדֶשׁ, יִהְיֶה לָכֶם שַׁבָּתוֹן–זִכְרוֹן תְּרוּעָה, מִקְרָא-קֹדֶשׁ.
Masoretic Hebrew text: Lev 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest unto you, a memorial proclaimed with the blast of horns, a holy convocation.
Here we see that the day is to be a memorial of the blasting of the shofar.
Psalm 81:3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
Proving that this really is about the blowing of trumpets and not just shouting.
Some have written that this day is better called the “Day of Shouting” because the word” Blow” can be rendered as “shouting” .
I say that this day is a day of great rejoicing in the presence of Christ; celebrating a great victory over Satan; and that while the dominant feature is the joyous blasting of trumpets, shouts of joy are not excluded! This day is about the event itself, and shouts and blasts of joy are BOTH involved together throughout the day!
They look to the Hebrew Teruah and say that means “Shouting” exclusively, and then totally overlook the reality that this word’s primary meaning is to “Blast” or “Blow”, and that Israel was to do this [same word blow] over all offerings and on ALL High Days; and from the most ancient times sounded trumpets [shofar] over the sacrifices and on ALL New Moons and ALL High days as God had commanded; also sounding trumpets throughout the first day of the seventh month.
In reality the meaning of “shout” is only one of several possible meanings for Teruah and the word means blowing or blasting loudly or shouting, as in the explosive expelling of sound and really does refer to rejoicing by blasting with trumpets in the presence of God.
This is NOT the Feast of Shouting as some would claim: It is the Feast of rejoicing WITH blasting trumpets, in memorial of the great deeds that God has done for his people!
Teruah: 8643
1) alarm, signal, sound of tempest, shout, shout or blast of war alarm or joy
[as in a victory celebration]
a) alarm of war, war-cry, battle-cry
b) blast (for march)
c) shout of joy (with religious impulse)
d) shout of joy (in general)
Lev 23:23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
The second place this Memorial of the Blowing of Trumpets is commanded is;
Num 29:1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile [work of any kind] work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.
2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the Lord; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish:
3 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram,
4 And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:
5 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you:
6 Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord.
These burnt offerings, which pictures the patient service of Christ to the Father and on behalf of the Father’s children, as the ONLY Mediator and ONLY Intercessor between the people and the Father; and as the Husband Protector of the espoused bride.
1) We know that this is a commanded Holy Day and that it is Holy to God. Therefore this day is distinctive regarding something the Father [through Christ] has done or will do on this day.
2) We also know that this is the first day of a month and is therefore a New Moon.
We are commanded to worship God and observe ALL New Moons as Appointed Times; like Passover and Wave Offering Sunday; however THIS new moon has been elevated above other new moons as a High Holy Day of God.
The new moon, as head of the month, consecrates the month and the seventh new moon sets the dates for the Fall Festivals
What is to be remembered on this New Moon? Why, we are to remember the blowing of Trumpets!!! This High Day is a memorial of the blowing of Trumpets!!!
This day is a reminder of the presence of our God and his Mighty Deeds and Glorious Victories!!!
Let us remember that trumpets are blown on ALL new moons, yet on the seventh new moon, trumpets are sounded continually throughout the day.
3) This sounding of trumpets is an announcement of the presence of God and his mighty deeds in defense of his people. The trumpet blast is also a blast of great rejoicing over a victorious conclusion to battle.
These are also truly the blasts of victorious rejoicing over the deliverance that God has wrought.
4) This day, as a New Moon and therefore the beginning of the seventh month, also announces and introduces all the events of the seventh month, which include the final victory over Satan and the putting away of Satan forever; and the main harvest of lives into the family of God and the Eighth Day picturing an eternal future in harmony and peace for all humanity with their God.
It is a fall High Day and has nothing to do with the spring harvesting of first fruits; it concerns events leading into the fall harvest of humanity into the family of God during the Feast of Tabernacles.
What events do the scriptures reveal about the end of the millennium and which introduce the beginning of the main harvest of humanity with a Great Victory by Christ over Satan?
Events where Christ delivers his people with Mighty Deeds, from great danger and certain destruction unless he intervenes. What event brings such tremendous rejoicing in a Great Victory over Satan to defeat him once and for all? and opens the way for the great majority of humanity being brought into the family of God?
Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Ezek 38:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 38:3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 38:4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: 38:5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 38:6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

38:13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?38:14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? 38:15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: 38:16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
38:17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them? 38:18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
38:19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; 38:20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
38:21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
38:22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
38:23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
39:1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 39:2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: 39:3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
39:4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
39:5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
The Feast of Trumpets pictures the completion of a TOTAL FINAL COMPLETE VICTORY OVER SATAN crushing a rebellion that has gone on for thousands if not ten thousands of years!!
What a day of rejoicing, not just for humanity but for all the Holy Angels and the Father himself!!! A final total victory over Satan and the putting down of the source of ALL rebellion against the Father and Christ!!!
The Feast of the Blasting of Trumpets pictures Christ giving ALL humanity deliverance; A TOTAL, ABSOLUTE, FINAL, VICTORY OVER SATAN!
The blasts of Trumpets throughout the first day of the seventh month, are in rejoicing over that total complete and final victory over the adversary of the family of God!
And then we come to the Fast of Atonement, and THE FINAL JUDGMENT OF SATAN WITH HIS REMOVAL FOREVER!!!
And the way is now opened for the Feast of the Ingathering of Nations; for another seven thousand years as the whole of humanity is resurrected in their courses and brought into the family of God!!!
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Then the great multitude of humanity will be resurrected in their courses throughout the Feast of the In-gathering of nations into the family of God!
The Feast of Frumpets! What a day of total REJOICING!!!
This is a day of Singing, Shouting for Joy, Blasting the Trumpet; and rejoicing with all our hearts for the Wondrous Victory that God has wrought!!!
